3 Year Well Check

Ridley had a great well check this morning.  She weighs 30 pounds 8 ounces which is in the 50-75%.  She is tall at 38.75 inches and in the 84 percentile.  Her head is 20 inches and 91%.  Her stats remind me of her oldest brother, tall with a big head.  Love it!

Well Checks

We did some double duty today and had both boys' annual well check.  I can't believe how fast the years are flying by.  The boys had to wear paper gowns, and they refused because they are printed with teddy bears. I "out mommed" them by turning them inside out.  Ha!  Oh, my sweet little boys.

Ryland weighed 55.8 lbs - 69.85% and was 4'1" tall - 64%. 

Reed weighed 47 lbs - 82.38% and was 3'8" tall - 74.86%.

18 Month Well Check

Miss Ridley is 18 months old and going on 18 years old.  She had a great visit with the Pediatrician this morning.  She weighs 26.2 lbs, which is in the 75% range.  She is 33.75 inches tall, which is 90.66%, and her head is 19.25 inches, which is 94%.  She met all the milestones, and the doctor is not concerned with her speech.  He told me to continue forcing her to say words instead of whining.

Reed's 4 year well check

It was the big, dreaded 4 year well check today.  Reed wore a paper gown, peed in a cup, and completed all the development tests.  I was so impressed with this big boy!  Reed is 41.5" inches tall - 75% and weighs 41 pounds - 75%.  He surpassed all the quizzes and did great on vision and hearing.  At the end of the appointment, the nurse tried to draw blood, but couldn't get his vein, twice.  That was all I could take of his pain, before I told her that was enough.  Shots, so we can get out of here, please.  Reed is one tough boy, but he is still the sweetest little guy.

6 Year Well Check

Ryland had his annual check up, and everything looked great.  We was super nervous and did not want to wear the paper gown.  In fact, he refused to wear the gown with little bears, so the nurse gave him a huge plain white one.  He is so sensitive and soon his eyes were filled with tears.  A few silly faces later, he was smiling and making silly faces back at me.  Ryland weighed 50 lbs, which is 75 percentile and is 39.5" tall, which is 50 percentile. 

Well Check

Ridley's twelve month well check went very well.  She is exceeding all developmental milestones, and she is growing near the top of the charts.  She weighs 22 pounds 13.5 ounces - 80%.  She is 31.5 inches tall - 98%, and her head is 18.5 inches in diameter - 93%. 

She loves to dance, clap, and make messes.  Faster than a speeding bullet, she is on to the next adventure, which usually means the stairs.  She is drawn to them, and she hates the baby gate stopping her.  She loves to cuddle and hug, and her brothers are totally smitten.  She is our sunshine.

9 month well check

Our sweet Ridley continues to grow and learn.  Her 9 month well check went very well.  She is 20lbs 10.5oz which is 77.34%.  She is 29.75in which is 97.38%.  Her head is 18in in diameter which is 89.62%.  She is big and almost identical to her brothers' growth track.  Our pediatrician loves it and is pleased that she is healthy and chunky.  I love it, too!  There is nothing cuter than a thick baby.

It was also an important appointment to discuss our decision about her helmet.  The doctor thinks that it is not necessary to move forward, and he strongly encouraged us to not worry about it.  We discussed studies and examples of different children, and I realized that Ridley is very mild on the measurements in only one of the four areas.  It was definitely a great moment.  Decision made and moving forward.

Ridley's 4 Month Well Check

Our sweet baby girl is getting big!  She is exceeding all the milestones, and she is gaining weight and inches.  She weighed in at 14 lbs 14 ounces - 78%, 25.5 inches - 90%, and 16.5 inches - 77%.  Time is flying,and she is such a delight.

Well checks - Round 2 & 3

I scheduled Ryland and Ridley for well checks on the same day to see if I could get two things done off my ever growing list of to dos.  I was hoping this would go a little better than all three together with some receiving shots and some not.  

Ryland was in a very silly mood and was really trying to entertain me.  He is growing and developing normally, and we have no cause for concern.   Ryland weighed 45.4 lbs which is 80 percentile, and he was 43 1/2 inches which is 63 percentile.  The doctor said this was typical right before a growth spurt in height.

Ridley wasn't interested in entertainment today.  She was tired and just wanted to sleep, but the doctor had other plans.  She was her normal happy self and went along with the exam.  We are watching her belly button, because it still hasn't healed.  The doctor treated it with nitrate, which will hopefully fix the problem.  It will be stained and ugly for a bit, but it doesn't hurt.  Ridley weighed 11 lbs 8.5 oz which is 69 percentile, 22 3/4 inches at 66 percentile, and her head was 15 1/2 inches which if 67 percentile.  She is very proportional.

2 Week Well Baby

Ridley started her well baby appointments with the pediatrician, and she was a trooper through all the measurements and physical tests.  She weighed 8lbs 6oz - 46% percentile.  She was 20.5 inches long - 60% percentile, and her head measured 14.4 inches - 61% percentile.

Ryland's 4 year well check

Today's visit to Dr. McCoy was more than a little rough.  It was the dreaded 4 year well check appointment, and I had been warned. 

Ryland was 39.8 pounds which is 79.10 percentile, and he was 41.75 inches tall which is 79.67 percentile.  He passed the hearing and vision tests without a problem too.  He is developmentally on track and physically performed all the "tricks" the doctor asked him to do.  The only thing left to do was a little blood test and four shots. 

Ryland did great at giving a little blood.  He said ouch when the needle went in but was quickly over it.  He even watched as they filled the tube.  The big problem was all those shots.  He refused to pull his pants down, and he fought me to keep them up, all while screaming, "NO MOMMY, NO, NO, NO!"  The first two shots caused shrieks, and the next two caused all out hollering.  Then it was over.  He stopped crying the second I told him we were leaving. 

The nurse gave him two suckers, and he stopped by the front desk for a sticker.  I promised ice cream afterwards, and Ryland selected Milwaukee Joe's in Town Square.  He wanted to pick up Reed before we went for ice cream, and we met Daddy there too.  Not a bad ending to a rough afternoon.

 

Reed's 2yr Well Check

Reed is a growing boy.  He had a well check today with the pediatrician, and he continues to be a "biggin".  He weighs 30lbs (74%).  He is 35.75" (84%). Everything looked great, but the doctor confirmed my thoughts about the tongue clipping.  Reed will be back at the ENT very soon.

 

Reed's 18 month well check

Reed is developing right on track.  The doctor was pleased with everything, but we still are watching the tongue tie issue.  We agreed to monitor it until he turns two and then re-address.
Reed weighs 28 pounds - 75.17%.  He is 33.5 inches tall - 79.10%, and his head is 19.5 inches - 89.25%. 

Reed's well check

Reed had a wonderful 15 month well check.  He is growing and developing on track, and he was quite the ham with the nurses.  He weighed in at 26 lbs 7.5 oz - 75 percentile, 32.25 inches tall - 82 percentile, and his head was 19.25 inches - 90 percentile.

Reed didn't create a big fuss after the shots.  He barely even screamed.  He did throw a fit when I wouldn't let him play with the trash can.  How horrible!

Ryland's 3 year well check

I had the joy of taking both boys to Ryland's 3 year well check this afternoon. It was a big day for Ryland, because he got to do several new things. He peed in a cup and had to do some "tricks" for the doctor. It was a little challenging in the bathroom holding the cup for Ryland and keeping Reed out of the trashcan and toilet. Ryland participated in all the requested tests until it was time for the last one. I was a little forceful with him on this one because it checked for scoliosis, which I have. He started fussing a bit, and then he was done. Everything checked out great.

Ryland weighed 35.6 lbs which is 85%, and he was 39.5 inches which is 91%. He got shots in both legs and screamed bloody murder. I think it upset Reed more than anyone, because he started screaming and heading toward the nurse. She laughed because it looked like he was going to fight her for hurting his brother. Brotherly love.

Reed's 12 month well baby

Our baby boy, Reed, had a good well check today. He wasn't feeling 100%, but he was a trooper. The doctor wanted to hold off on shots until he was feeling better, so we will come back next week to catch up on shots. Reed weighed in at 24 lbs and 2.5 oz which is 70%. He was 31 inches tall which is 85%, and his head was 19 inches which is 93%. He passed all the developmental checks, and was ahead on the "checklist"- no more bottles, no paci, and transition to whole milk.

Reed's 4 month well check

Reed's 4 month well check went very well. He is meeting all the developmental milestones and growing quickly. We weighed 18 lbs 7.5 oz which is 97%. He is 26.5 inches which is 94%. Reed's head is 17.25 inches which is 88%. I think it is obvious that he is a big boy. He can now start eating rice cereal and stage one foods. I swear the child smiled when the doctor mentioned eating food. He wasn't a fan of the shots, but who ever is. He screamed and cried, but he quickly recovered. I love watching him grow and learn. I am amazed at how quickly he is growing.

Double well check appointment

I took the boys to the doctor for their well checks. It was a bit crazy juggling two. Ryland didn't want to participate, and he didn't want Reed to either. It started the moment we got out of the truck at the doctor's office. Ryland refused to go inside the office. He started telling me "no momma, no doctor". It only got better as I physically took him inside. He screamed the whole time he was being weighed, measured, checked, and given shots. Drama! He is a smart little guy, and he knew what was coming. He didn't calm down when it was Reed's turn. He was very protective, and he did not want anyone touching "Baby Weed".

Ryland weighed 28lbs 8oz - 54%, height 34.5 inches - 54%. and his head was 20 inches - 93%. He is carrying a large brain.

Reed weighed 9lbs 13oz - 75%, height 21.25 inches - 68%, and his head was 15 inches - 70%.

Happy that they both are healthy. I will reconsider on taking them together again. I can only imagine this get worse, but I guess it is nice to get it over with.
