Choices in the library

Big library day for Reed - He was able to chose any book in the library.  Until now, the librarian and teacher have guided them to one section of the library at a time.  Parents were invited to take part in this first selection, and I was happy to help out with the class.  Reed thinks he is a big boy now.

Reading

Miss Ridley loves books and enjoys reading multiple times a day.  Our favorite books are Brown Bear, Brown Bear and Mr. Brown Can Moo.  She will grab a book and bring it to me.  She turns around and backs up before sitting in my lap.  It is adorable!

Ready for bed

Nana brought Ryland some Valentine treats on this visit, and one of the gifts was this cool book. It is a recordable Hallmark book that replays Nana's voice reading the story. Ryland thought it was the coolest thing and laughed at the last page when he heard "Nana loves you".
The look of a tired little boy that doesn't want to give it up.
Cheese, one more time for the camera before bed.

Story time & Chick-fil-A

It's Wednesday, and it is time for story time at the library.

We have been working on learning animal names. Ryland is picking up on some of the names and/or noises. He pointed at several of them on the mural. He still loves ducks and dogs the most.
After story time, we headed to Chick-fil-A again for a bite and some more playing. Ryland is getting pretty quick at climbing, so this is a better option than my coffee table at home.

Story time

Story time at the library is a new hit with Ryland. He loves going to hear the story and play. He was in great deliberation this week as he chose the perfect book.
Another favorite thing to do at the library is run from mommy. He thinks it is hilarious to run up and down the aisles and hide. He laughs and falls down on the floor when I find him.

No storytime is complete without taking a ride on the dragon.

Fun at Borders

Ryland and I made a stop at Borders to pick up some new books, and he made a new friend in the children's area. He was no longer interested in books or anything else. He just wanted to hug and love on this big stuffed dog.
How sweet!

What a day!

We headed to the local library for story time. The program is targeted for young children that have just started walking. We read a book and then played a few games with a parachute and some balls. Ryland found this stuffed dragon in the corner, and he loved jumping on it.

Ryland might be interested in joining the circus or moving in with the monkeys at the zoo. He has turned into a climber today, and nothing is safe from his reach. He was standing on his 4 wheeler seat, but I couldn't grab the camera in time to catch a picture. I am sure he will do it again, but I did not want to promote the danger.

When Cooper goes to the back door, we know it is time to let him out. Ryland has caught on too. He isn't quite tall enough to turn the doorknob. Yet....

We needed to purchase a life jacket for Ryland before we leave for vacation, so we headed to Bass Pro to try on their selection. Needless to say, Ryland was NOT a fan. He went crazy as soon as we put it on him.

He tried to run down the aisle while trying to pull off the life jacket. He fell down and could not get back up.

Before we could leave Bass Pro, we checked out the huge aquarium. Ryland loved the albino catfish. He just watched in complete awe.
Before Ryland goes to bed, we read a book. Tonight he wanted to read before his bath.

He loves to read Rocky Dog.

Ryland loves books

Nanna gave Ryland a great new book that has textured areas. He could care less about that, because the book tastes so darn good.
