Play Buddies

Since we are taking it easy this week as Ryland heals, we are finding new things to play with at home.  This afternoon Reed and Ridley played on a "ship" in my bedroom.  It was cute how they were playing so sweetly.  I did notice that Reed started putting pillows on Ridley, and I quickly figured out that it was to keep her stationary.  That boy!

Build-O-Rama Round 2

It's Wednesday, and it is time to build.  Today, Ryland and Reed built houses.  They decided to connect them with a tree bridge, so they could visit one another.  I asked if they were planning on living like this when they grew up, and Ryland informed me that they were planning on living with me.

Reed was a typical camera hog, and he wanted to pose for multiple pictures.  He cracks me up, because he will pose and then want to look at the pictures of himself.  

Hideout

Ryland's imagination has taken off, and I love watching and listening to him play.  He builds forts and hideouts and likes to put lots of toys inside.  He can play for hours while his toys have extensive conversations. He is growing up so fast.

 

Pretending

The boys found a new place to play this afternoon.  They grabbed their folding chairs, gathered a snack in their chiller bag, and set up in the back of the pantry under the staircase.  They thought this was the coolest place to pretend like they were camping out.  It is great to see their imaginations in action.

 

Spring Break

Spring Break is here!  We plan on sleeping later (8:00 instead of 7:15) and playing in our pjs all day.  The boys started the morning by packing up their toys in their baskets and going on airplane trips in my closet.  The baskets turned into boats, trains, and even parade floats.  They traveled the Southern states and made a trip to Anguilla.

 

 

After lunch, the boys did a little painting.  Nana gave them some wooden cars and trains with paint sets.  We had an awesome time talking and painting.

Imagination

As I emptied boxes in the office, the boys would grab them for their "toy workshop" in the foyer.  At one point they had every toy from the family room cabinets on the floor behind a line of boxes.  They laughed and chatted together about their work. I love their imaginations playing together.

Dragon in our house

I found this adorable felt dragon hat at Michaels. I knew that Ryland would just love it. He growls like a dragon when he puts it on his head. It is really funny how is imagination is starting to really take off. We take turns wearing the hat and chasing each other around the house. Of course we must growl like a dragon, or it just isn't fun.
