Fossil Rim

Nana and Papaw were in town visiting, and we didn't have anything to do.  We decided to make a visit to Fossil Rim in Glen Rose.  It was a great day to see lots and lots of deer.

The giraffe were resting today and not interested in eating, but they were still beautiful.

This deer was coming on in the truck for a snack.  The kiddos thought this was hilarious, but the adults felt a little uneasy.  OK, time to roll up those windows.

Dragon Baseball Camp

Ryland was very excited to participate in baseball camp again this summer.  He has so much fun playing with the big boys.  He learned lots of fundamentals and sweated in the heat.  The highlight of the first day was baseball cards.  He loves baseball cards!

Happy Father's Day

The best shot of all the kiddos with their awesome Daddy, and 3 of the 5 looking at the camera isn't bad.  We love you!

Sand

Dreaming of Anguilla sand, but this will do for today.  They had so much fun, and now we know that Ridley will be right in the middle of the sandcastle fun when we are on vacation.

Pool

The pool remodel is getting so close to being complete.  I love how it looks so far, and I can't wait to enjoy it!

Mud

Who doesn't love a little mud?  We are finishing up the backyard, since the pool is almost complete.  New St. Augustine sod is going down in a few days, and a stone walkway to the gate is in progress. The boys thought it would be a great opportunity to make a big mud pit and roll around in it.  It started out as a monster truck track, but we knew they couldn't help themselves.  The temptation was too great!

Miss Ridley wasn't interested in rolling in the mud, but she definitely wanted to have some fun with the monster trucks and tractors.

Thursday Fun

Since I still look a little beat up, we have been spending the week at home.  Today I thought I would treat my children to a little surprise.  We picked up lunch at Chick-fil-A, and I took them to a new picnic spot.  At the north entry of DFW Airport, there is a small park that provides an excellent view of incoming planes called Founders Plaza.
The park has covered picnic tables and a few plaques and statues.  The coolest feature is the speaker from the tower.  We listened to the planes being called in by air traffic control, and it was awesome.  As we were getting ready to leave, the boys wanted to watch one more plane come in, and I was happy to agree.

Another favorite activity this week is Nabi time.  When Ridley sleeps, the boys play quietly on their Nabis behind the sofa in the game room.  I am not sure why they pick that spot, but it must be comfy.

Happy Shipment Day

Happy!  Happy!  All of my new patio cushions, pillows, and outdoor drapes have arrived.  I can't wait to put the finishing touches on our beautiful backyard project.

Our summer to do list.  It is going to be fun!

Exterior Projects

We have lived in this house for almost five years, and we have needed to replace the trim on the game room windows since day one.  Today, we got started.  John Chris "engineered" a way to climb up on the roof.  We decided to go ahead and replace the tacky faux stucco siding.  I would cut the boards, and John Chris would nail them.

We also replaced the faux stucco with lap board siding on the rear of the house.  I can't believe how much better the small change looks.  Only a little caulk and paint, and this project will be done.

Admiring

I caught this adorable view this evening of the littles and John Chris checking on the pool.  The filling started today, and it was as if they were watching paint dry.  They can't wait to swim, and John Chris could only admire the beautiful new pool.  It is going to be a great summer of swimming fun!

Fairy Tale Character

A fun day to celebrate the end of the school year!  Ryland had a Fairy Tale Ball at school, and he had to dress up as a fairy tale character.  We talked about a few choices, and he selected the Big Bad Wolf.  I ordered an adorable hat, tail, and gloves on Etsy, which were perfect.
Here they are at the bus stop on the last morning.

Kindergarten Graduation

I can't believe Ryland is almost finished with Kindergarten already.  It seems like just yesterday, we were prepping for the first day.  He has had a wonderful year, and we are so very proud of our little graduate.

It took several tries to get all three children together and looking at the camera.  You would never guess who was being difficult.

Family shot with our Kinder graduate.

Jiu-Jitsu

Both boys are in Jiu-Jitsu now twice a week. It was really neat to watch them interact and train with one another.  As you can see, they are not sparring together right now, which is probably a good thing.  Reed was super excited about getting started, and he did an awesome job.

Pool Remodel Continues

As the rain keeps coming, the pool project keeps going.  We had a good amount of rain overnight, so the once empty pool is filling up.  The boys had a blast playing in the few inches of water, and Cooper even wanted in on the action!

The Wetlands

We finally got everything loaded, and we are on the road!  Here we come Louisiana!

In the middle of packing and loading, Ryland smacked himself in the mouth.  It was pretty bad, and there was blood and screaming.  He did end up losing a top front tooth, so the Tooth Fairy had to find him way out at the Wetlands.  I don't know how she did it, but she found him and left a sweet surprise.  $20 bill!  The tooth fairy must not have had change for her unexpected trip.

We all enjoyed being outdoors and spent a little time fishing.  It was nice to be outside and ride around in the boat.  Ryland reeled in a fish, and we saw a pretty large snake in the water.  Ryland also lost his other top front tooth today, so we had to send a memo to the Tooth Fairy, again.

We had a ton of fun visiting and catching up with everyone.  It was nice to see how everyone is changing as more kiddos are born.  The corn hole, skeet shooting, and beer drinking are still in full effect, but there are some more yard toys and play pins.

Reed was the ultimate frog catcher.  He loved tracking and catching these frogs as they hopped across the porch and patio.  He was very stealth-like and grabbed them quickly.  He would play with them a little while, and then he would let them go.

The inflatable water slide was a huge hit again.  Reed wouldn't take a break for a picture, and I snapped this one of Ryland as he ran over for more sunscreen.  They loved it!  Ridley threw a fit to get on it, but it didn't go so well.  She slid down screaming one time, and that pretty much changed her mind about the slide.

Ridley had a blast at the Wetlands.  She was a trooper and went along with whatever we were doing.  I did have some long, wonderful naps with her in the cool bunk house.  I love those sweet still moments.  On the way home, I picked her up this Cinderella drink when they boys got ICEEs.  She was so excited and held the bottle like a baby.  Too funny!

OUES Field Day

Ryland experienced his first Field Day at Dragon Stadium.  He had an awesome day and loved every moment of running, playing, and being crazy.  John Chris had the day off, so he volunteered to help with the games.  It was a fun morning for the boys.  Here is Ryland with his buddies Graham and Grant.

Mini Kickers - Skills Showcase

Reed finished soccer camp today, and he was very impressive in the game.  He was full of hustle and really competitive.  He is ready to play "real" soccer this fall, and there is no doubt that he will have a blast.

Blastball!

With all the rain we have been getting, the Spring baseball season has seemed to drag on forever.  Reed's coach gave out trophies and congratulated the team on a great season of fun.  Reed was really excited and proud!

What happens when you are really excited?  You roll around in the grass with your brother.  Then you roll in dog poop.
Come on!  We are out of here!

Pony Pictures

This picture cracks me up.  Reed's pre-school is fabulous.  Once a year they dress up the students, and they get to pose on a realy pony. He had a blast!
