Lazy Mornings

I love lazy Saturday mornings!  The boys crawled in bed with us this morning to watch cartoons, and they ended up falling back asleep.  I took this picture and immediately realized these special moments will be over before I know it.  My baby boys are already growing into little boys and taking up more and more space.  Space I am happy to share.

What a day of fun!

We started the day with a little blastball.  Reed's team cracks me up, because they still all run after the ball.  Instead of being a team, they race each other to the ball.  Today it was a team pile up.

Ryland played in the foam pit at Brady's birthday party.  It started out fun, but then became a nasty mess of mud foam.  All the kiddos had to be hosed down before enjoying some baseball themed grub.

We finished the afternoon playing at home.  Reed had some "headless" fun with the Lego men, which freaked me out a bit, but I was pleased to see a little OCD trait.

The boys played a little rough house while Ridley grinned with delight that she could see them all.   She was playing, too!

Play Ball

Reed loves to play ball, and he is so excited for Saturdays.  He is really interested in baseball, and he pays attention to the game.  He gets "baseball ready" when he is in the field.

One lucky player gets a game ball after each game, and it was Reed's lucky day.  He played very well and stayed engaged always learning new skills and having fun.

It's "Saturday"!

We have a Saturday tradition that has caught on over the past several months. It started when Ryland would wake up and come downstairs. "Where did daddy go?" I would tell him what day of the week it was and explain that daddy was at work. I started telling him that daddy would stay home on Saturday. On Fridays, John Chris and I would ask what day is tomorrow? We taught him to say "Saturday". He says it in a really cute emphasized way that caught on.

As the weeks progressed, we started making cinnamon rolls on Saturday mornings. Ryland would spread the icing on the top when they came out of the oven. He really likes cinnamon rolls and started asking for them by name. I started picking them up every time we bought groceries. They have become a staple item on the list.

When you ask Ryland what day is it tomorrow. He will tell you "Saturday", and then say cinnamon rolls. I have to admit my heart smiles every time I buy those cinnamon rolls, and I can't wait for "Saturday".
