Tough Loss

This one hurt.  The boys gave it their all, but they fell short by one point.  They were disappointed, but they quickly recovered with a little candy from the cheerleaders.

Field Day

Due to lots of rain, Field Day had to be moved inside at Old Union.  The kids didn't seem to mind one bit.  Ryland's favorite activity was the blowing baseball inflatable.  I think he was liking the response from the line of boys watching him cream the ball over and over.  He would then go the back of the line to wait for another turn, all while giggling when his friends couldn't hit the ball.

Reed and Ridley got in on the action too.  They chased bean bags that were launched off the foot stomper.

Even though it was disappointing not to play at the stadium, these Dragons made the best of a fun day at school.

Soccer

Reed is a soccer maniac!  He had a blast this morning with his team, and he was all over the ball.  He has been looking forward to playing for weeks, and now he gets too.  I love watching him have fun and excel.  Go Sidekicks!

Chuck E Cheese

Today, I had a surprise planned for the kiddos.  Without telling them in advance, we headed to Chuck E Cheese for lunch.  I know they love this place, and they would be so happy.  Turned out it was the perfect day to visit.  There were only about 10 people, and we had a blast.  We won so many tickets and enjoyed the newly remodeled location.  Lots of new games!

Mini Kickers - Skills Showcase

Reed finished soccer camp today, and he was very impressive in the game.  He was full of hustle and really competitive.  He is ready to play "real" soccer this fall, and there is no doubt that he will have a blast.

Hide and Seek

Ridley's favorite game is hide and seek.  Today she thought the shoe basket would help hide her, so she climbed right in.  Completely disappeared!

Play Ball

Reed loves to play ball, and he is so excited for Saturdays.  He is really interested in baseball, and he pays attention to the game.  He gets "baseball ready" when he is in the field.

One lucky player gets a game ball after each game, and it was Reed's lucky day.  He played very well and stayed engaged always learning new skills and having fun.

Rangers game

John Chris had great seats for the Rangers game, so I couldn't let a little pain get in the way.  We had family in town, so we all loaded up for a fun evening at the ballpark.  We expected to make it about half the game, but the boys were having a blast.

Love that smile!  Ryland was really into the game and atmosphere was perfect for him.  He cheered, danced, and had an absolute blast.

Reed hung in there to the end, which was around 11:00.  I am sure the sweets helped keep him going.  We had a wonderful evening, and the Rangers won!

Scary

I can only imagine in a few years these two will be cruising around together.  I love how Ryland is serious and paying attention to his driving.  It is too bad that the pedal is on the floor, but at least he is trying.  Reed is just along for the ride.  I can just see his head hanging out the window laughing and screaming.
What a scary thought of these two in the vehicle coming at you.  Prayers accepted!

Finally...

Blastball has been a sore subject at home the past few weeks.  Ryland played one Saturday about a month ago, and he has been asking everyday since if it was time to go play again.  He didn't have a game for two weeks for Spring Break and one week it was raining.
We finally had a beautiful Saturday morning, and he was ready.  It was obvious when he walked out to the mound, glove on, and turned to see when the other team was coming out to bat.  Finally, he gets to play ball.

Blastball

Ryland started his second season of blastball today.  He is on a completely new team but with several of his play group buddies.  It is amazing how much difference a year can make, because he was pumped and ready to go this year.  He wasn't hesitant or shy about a thing.  He wanted his baseball shirt and hat, so he could get after it.

Reed had to get in on the action too, so he ran a few bases with John Chris.  I can't wait to see him play next year.

iPhone fan

Ryland loves my new iPhone!  He likes to play all the games, but his favorite game is Jake and the Netherland Pirates.  He traded his TV show time for time with my phone.  I am blown away at how quickly he picks up on how to operate it, because I am still learning.

Chuck E Cheese - Take 2

One thing that I must do on every trip to Chuck E Cheese is the sketch booth. I just love to have the silly keepsake. Our sketch this time was awesome, and it took two attempts to get all four of us with Reed throwing a fit.
Reed and I play in the toddler area under the slide in the school bus.
The boys took a ride with Chuck E Cheese before leaving. This trip was SO much better than the last. We all had a great time playing the games. Now we can head home for naps!

Eye drops

My sweet Ryland loves to go through my nightstand. Every day he gets the remotes, lotion, coaster, polish, and eye drops out of the top drawer. He gives me one item at a time. It is our little game.
Today he was fascinated by the eye drops. He would act like he was going to give them to me, but then he wouldn't.
He hasn't figured out how to snap the lid off yet, but I just know it is coming. He decided they could potentially quench his thirst. Cooper obviously agreed, so he sat close by for his swig. Needless to say the saline drops will find a new home for a little while.
