Naps

It is a rare moment to catch Ridley napping.  She is full of energy and not going to miss a minute of the fun with her brothers.  I convinced her to rest in my bed and watch some cartoons.  She quickly fell fast asleep.

Sleeping

It's hard to be 2.5 years old.  Ridley didn't make it through her snack before she lost the battle of a nap.  It happened very fast, and she was out.

Nap Buddies

We have had a rough few nights with Ridley, so John Chris enjoyed a Sunday afternoon nap with her.  I tried to sneak in and catch them cuddled up, but she heard the door squeak.  I love to watch them together.  It is adorable.

Worn out

What is sure to wear out two kids in under an hour?  Sam's on a Friday afternoon, and the hum of my truck on the way home! I pulled in the garage to find my sleeping angels.  I just couldn't bring myself to wake them up.  I quietly unloaded all the party supplies.  They have such a hard life.

A soft place to rest my head

I was tickled to see Ryland napping today. He was sleeping in my bed, and I walked through the room to put up laundry. I guess he couldn't decide what pillow to sleep on.

Napping

Reed and Pops caught up on a little sleep before we headed home.

Ryland waited until we hit the road before completely crashing. He had so much fun, and he was completely worn out. He didn't even make it through Dora before nodding off to sleepy land.

Favorite nap spot

Reed loves to nap in Mommy and Daddy's bed. It is odd how quickly he calms down and dozes off when he lays down. He usually wakes up hungry at 5AM, and after I feed him, we cuddle. He will take a short nap and wake up again around 7:30.

Peaceful sleep

Reed loves to sleep on his side. I snapped this quiet, quick shot of my big boy resting peacefully.

Reed the napper

Once again my little man Reed is sleeping. He loves to cuddle on our chests and slips right off to sleep immediately. What a hard life!

Napping with Daddy

John Chris and Reed are completely worn out! I can't imagine that this position is comfortable for either of them, but it doesn't seem to bother them one bit.

Precious naptime

I love holding and loving on Reed. I had forgotten how little and tiny babies truly are. I realize now how quickly this stage passes, and I am loving every moment. Reed is happiest when he is cuddled and held close. He is a snuggle bug.

Napping with my Bubby

Ryland requested that I take a nap with him today. When I tucked him in, he patted on the bed and said momma. I couldn't refuse, so I cuddled up beside my bubby. He drifted off super fast, and I caught myself just watching him sleep. He looked like a peaceful little old man in his button up shirt that he refused to change out of.

Many thoughts of how quickly time has flown by since he was born started coming to mind. I enjoy seeing him grow and learn new things every day, and I just can't imagine my life without him. I feel so blessed and lucky to be his mom, and I look forward to every moment in the future. It is so funny how these special moments sneak up on me.

Napping with Daddy

After a long hard morning, my boys crash on the sofa for a little nap.

Napping at school

Ryland was the last kiddo sleeping today, and he was out of it when I arrived to pick him up. I guess the nap mat is pretty darn comfy. Don't you just love the butt in the air?

Happy Father's Day!

We had a wonderful Father's Day. We started the day with an awesome message at church. We had a huge tasty meal at Texas de Brazil. A nap was the perfect way of relaxing, so we all took a 3 hour siesta. What a way to spend the day!

New nap mat

Just one more sign that our little boy is growing up. Ryland will start napping on a mat at "school" in June. I have no idea how Ms. Nan will pull this off, but I am anxious to see.
I was going to attempt to make one myself, but I know that I would turn the task into a huge deal, shop for fabric for hours, and over analyze the design. I found this adorable mat on etsy.com. It arrived today, and I am very pleased.
We laid it out on the floor and tried to get Ryland to test it out, but it didn't work. He did enjoy carrying it around. Good luck!

Fun afternoon

Cooper loves Ryland, and I thought this little moment was too cute. Cooper is napping outside Ryland's room while Ryland takes a nap. Cooper is always the first one to hear the smallest little noise out of Ryland. They love to play together.
Why on Earth does Ryland sleep crammed down at one end turned sideways? Who knows?

Oh no! Someone woke up on the wrong side of the crib.

After Ryland actually woke up, he was in a great mood. He loves to play with the dish towels, and he slings them over his shoulder and helps me clean up any spills.
I am sure this is the only picture I will ever have of Ryland "behind bars". A little note about the plastic golf club he has in his hand - RUN! He doesn't understand how to hit a ball yet, so he smacks everything else in reach.
Back to the towel for a little peek-a-boo before bath time.

Transitioning to 1 nap?

I think my little boy is at another minor milestone. He is wanting to nap later in the day now, and he is not interested in a second afternoon nap. Previously he would nap twice a day for about an hour to an hour and a half each time. Now he wants to take one nap that is about two hours long. He is growing up too darn fast!

Bed head

Looking a bit disheveled after a 2.5 hour nap.
I could not believe Ryland slept an extra hour today. Normally I can set a clock exactly at 1.5 hours, and he is up right on time. I think he is in another growth spurt, because he is sleeping and eating like a mad man.

Naked nap

Ryland was in his crib taking a nap when John Chris and I heard some noises. We looked at the baby monitor and noticed Ryland was waking up. Then we realize, he is naked. What happened to his diaper?
He had enough of his diaper, so he took it off. Silly boy! Next time we will put some pants on that child.
He can't quite pull up on his own, but he can hold it once we help him out. I just know the day is coming soon that I walk in and see this.
