Sleeping

As I was kissing everyone goodnight, I noticed they all are sleeping in some sort of crazy way tonight.  Reed is surrounded by pillows and 25 stuffed animals.

Ridley is wiped out on the sofa after enjoying her Nabi.  She even lost her wolf ears.

I found Ryland upstairs in his pillow fort behind the chair in the gameroom.  I don't see how this is comfortable, but he is out.

Hard Life

What does a girl have to do to get some sleep around here?  Send two big brothers to school!
It has been a long summer of action packed days, which haven't slowed down for naps.  Now that the boys are in school, Ridley is able to rest in peace and quiet. I am really enjoying the one on one time with her.

Worn Out

I love these two sweethearts so much, and I love seeing them cuddle.  Tonight, they were exhausted!

Pallet Party

While John Chris is away skiing, I have been enjoying lots of sweet moments with my children.  Tonight, I thought it would be fun to try a pallet party.  I laid out lots of blankets and pillows in my room, thinking that the party wouldn't last long.  We cuddled in and watched a little Paw Patrol.

Before I knew it, all three of the kiddos were out, and even Cooper sneaked in.
Sweet dreams sweet babies!

Stomach Sleeping

I have been wondering when Ridley was going to sleep on her stomach, and it finally happened today.  I checked the baby monitor before I went to sleep, and I see little Miss on her stomach.  It made me so happy, because she was off the back of her head.

Sleepy Heads

It is hard to fly so early in the morning!  John Chris, Ryland, and Ridley are out on the plane and will be rested for the beach in ANGUILLA!

Sleeping in Time Out

Ryland was being a real toot this afternoon.  After several times of reminding him that he wasn't playing nice, I told him to go to his room for time out.  I set the timer, and I went on about my business.  I noticed that he was immediately quiet, and he didn't ask me over and over if it was time for him to get out.  When the timer beeped, I headed upstairs.  Ryland was asleep in time out.

3 months

Ridley is so very sweet and happy.  She loves to smile and make precious baby noises.  Ridley is not a fan of napping during the day, and she prefers to stay up all day.  She still sleeps through the night, but she gets pretty cranky right before bedtime.  She will crash and then sleep the entire following day.  She does this at least once a week.  When she does nap during the day on the other days, it is only about 30-45 minutes.  Sweet girl with crazy sleeping habits.  Maybe she will be another night owl like her mom and big brother, Ryland.

Boys will be boys

Hahahaha!  When I was getting everyone ready for bed tonight, Reed fell asleep on the sofa.  This is how I found him.  I guess this is in their DNA.

Valentine snuggle

Ridley is such a little snuggle bug.  Every morning between 5 and 6, she wakes up ready to eat.  After she finishes, we snuggle, and she goes right back to sleep.  I love this precious time with her, and it is my absolute favorite time of the day.  What a great start to Valentine's Day!

Pallet time

The boys love to sleep on a pallet together.  I was such a sucker tonight, and I caved even though it was a school night.  John Chris was out of town, and I was just plain worn out and lazy.  After baths we got comfy to watch an episode, and the boys were asleep in 10 minutes.

Where is Reed?

I always check the baby monitor before I go to bed, but I found an empty bed tonight on Reed's screen.  It caught me a bit off guard, so I looked really close.  I asked John Chris to take a look to see if I had lost my mind.  He, too, couldn't find Reed.
We headed upstairs to see what this silly boy was up to.  He wasn't in his bed, under his bed, in the gameroom, in the bathroom, on the sofa in the loft, or in Ryland's bedroom.  We were both getting a little nervous, when we peeped into his closet.  There he was sleeping peacefully with his Ziggy and Nonni.
When I asked him the next morning what he was doing sleeping in the closet, he bluntly told me that he was hiding.  Oh my!  I think we have a character.

Goodnight

We made a big pallet in the family room, so all of us could watch a little TV.  It wasn't long before we noticed that both boys were asleep.  Ryland was bundled up under a blanket on a pillow, and Reed looked like he had on a straight jacket.
Goodnight, my loves.

No side rail

We removed the side rail on Ryland's bed, so he is officially a big boy.  He sleeps like a mad man and is usually all over the place.  We hear him hit the wall every now and then, so we left the bed pushed against the wall.  He was really excited!  Cross your fingers.

A soft place to rest my head

I was tickled to see Ryland napping today. He was sleeping in my bed, and I walked through the room to put up laundry. I guess he couldn't decide what pillow to sleep on.

Waiting on mommy

I had a fun night with the girls at the local bowling alley. We had a blast visiting and bowling. When I got home, I noticed I could hear a TV. All the lights were off, and I found John Chris and Ryland in the master. The Backyardigans obviously put two of my boys to sleep tonight. I thought it was so cute that they were having a boys night.

My arms are free

Reed loves to be swaddled very tightly. He also prefers his arms to be wrapped inside the blanket, so I was surprised to find him spread out during his nap today. He is getting so big that we will soon have to removed the wedge that keeps him on his back. Not because he is rolling over, but the fact that he barely fits between the sides of the wedge.

8PM to 6:30AM

Reed must have been completely worn out after an afternoon of fun yesterday. He went down at 8 and didn't wake up until 6:30! WOW! Of course I was up all night with his brother, but I couldn't believe my little man slept so long. It is one more sign of him growing up, and it makes me sad. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that he is sleeping. It just seems like the "baby" days are going quickly.

Hiding and sleeping

How in the world did he get under the sofa? It was all fun and games until he couldn't get out.

While one plays the other one sleeps.

9 hours of sleep!

What? 9 hours of sleep? Is it a new sleep pattern? Of course I still woke up multiple times throughout the night, but it wasn't due to Reed waking. I would wake up and check to make sure he was still breathing, and he was peacefully sleeping. I hope this continues. Awesome!
