Thanksgiving in Bossier

Our next visit was in Bossier with Lizee & Pops.  We stayed with Aunt Emily & Uncle Jeffery, so we were able to visit and play with Ellison.  The children loved playing games with Lizee while Pops rests.

Texarkana Thanksgiving

We are making the rounds for Thanksgiving fun.  Our first stop was Texarkana to see Nana and Papaw.  We also got to visit with our nieces and nephews, and I just love watching the kids play together.

Crazy at IHOP

To kick off the Thanksgiving break, we had two Owens boys spend the night.  They wanted pancakes and bacon for breakfast, so I treated them all to IHOP.  It was a bit out of control, and I got a couple of "holy cow, 5 kids" looks.  Lots of laughs and making memories!

CHCS Thanksgiving Feast

Ridley's class had a Thanksgiving celebration with pasta necklaces and feather decorated headbands.  This sweet age is precious.

Volunteering

Old Union held a staff luncheon today to show appreciation for our one of a kind awesome team.  Parents volunteered to lead the classrooms for one hour, so the staff could all eat together.  I volunteered for Reed's class with my friend, Kristi.  About 10 minutes in, we knew we were in over our heads.  These kids are crazy!  I immediately started counting down the minutes, and she blocked the door.  It seems like school is much more "fluid" than it was year ago.  Kids just get up and leave the class for water, bathroom, etc.  Without asking!
After an hour, we were exhausted and begging Ms. Hill to magically reappear, as we stared down the hall.  Note to self, never again volunteer for a teacher's place.  Never again.

The students proudly displayed their turkey feathers on the classroom door.  Every parent made a feather that included what makes their child special.  This is a very heart felt homework assignment that John Chris and I enjoy working on.

Thanksgiving Crafts

The sweetest and cutest placemats I have ever seen.

CHCS Thanksgiving Feast

Reed enjoyed his feast with his class, and they chowed down in their festive handmade attire.  He selected Rolling Pig as his name, and it is a perfect fit.  My sweet javelina!

Thanksgiving Take 1

We traveled to Texarkana for our first round of Thanksgiving with family.  We had a great time visiting and playing with cousins.  We even managed to get all 5 of them to pose for a picture.  They had the best time with each other.

Ridley couldn't make it any longer.  She was loving her sweet cuddle time with Daddy.

CHCS Thanksgiving Feast

Chapel Hill always does an amazing Thanksgiving feast.  All of the children had a decorated vest, necklace, and head dress.

Each child picked out their name.  Reed selected Brave Deer.

Reed and I before he heads back to class.  I was thrilled to help with this event, so I could spend special time with Reed.

The centerpieces had leaves for each student.  The leaves had things that the students were thankful for.  I just love Reed's items.

Reed loves his silly Ms. Pam.  She is fun loving and interactive with them which makes her a favorite.

Thanksgiving Take One

We started our Thanksgiving celebration with my side of the family.  We had a great time visiting, laughing, and catching up.  My mom had started decorating for Christmas, and she had her life size singing Santa out.  Unfortunately, he wasn't making any noise.  Good thing my brother and John Chris love little projects.  They completely dismantled Santa and brought him back to life.

We spent the evening playing Logo Party, and the two little ones had to be right in the middle of the action.

School Feast

The boys had an awesome week celebrating Thanksgiving at school before going on break.  I am the class mom for Reed's class, so I stopped by to set up their feast.  When I arrived, I noticed this thankful board.  It was so sweet and pretty darn funny as well.

Ryland's sweet teachers sent a kind note, and it warmed my heart that he has such wonderful teachers.

Happy Turkey Day 2012

After the turkey was smoked and carved, we had a little taste tester ready for a bite.  Reed scooted his stool over to the counter and climbed up for a nibble.  Yummy!

We have so much to be thankful for this year.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Feast

Ryland had a festive Thanksgiving feast at school.  All the kiddos wore their handmade attire and chowed down on all the goodies.

Our class mom did a fabulous job decorating their tables.  The turkey centerpiece was filled with popcorn.  The kids loved it!

Ryland chowed down on nuggets, mac'n cheese, corn, and fruit.

I just had to get a full shot of my Running Eagle.

The night before his big feast, we worked on wrapping his teacher gifts.  It was a great opportunity to talk to him about giving thanks and showing appreciation.  We glued the pretty berries and feathers on the boxes, and I wish I could have bottled the moment.

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year, but it was definitely different. We started with working on the house then a delicious lunch of turkey sandwiches. We then loaded up and headed to Cowboys stadium to watch the Saints and Cowboys. The Owens invited us to join their family in a private suite, and it was absolutely awesome.

Ryland loves football, and he liked to be close to the glass to see the action. It made me nervous, because I know how much he loves to climb. He did great and kept both feet on the floor most of the time.

What a view! This is the best way to watch a game. The game was action packed, and the fans really got into the game. It was funny to see the suites on both sides of us yelling for the Cowboys, and we were yelling for the Saints. Who dat!
A fun moment with my boy.
Ryland and Jackson played with the trucks when they took a break from the game.
When John Chris and I stopped to think about everything we are thankful for, we were overwhelmed with the numerous blessings in our lives. We are forever thankful for every moment.

Thanksgiving feast

Ryland's school had their Thanksgiving feast today, and I volunteered to help out. I was amazed at all the little ones sitting down together and wearing their turkey headpieces. All the little ones except Ryland. I tried everything to get him to sit at the table with his classmates, but he wasn't interested. He wanted to run around and play.

Don't even think about it. The turkey headpiece was jerked off and thrown immediately.
Ryland's teachers assured me that he normally sits and eats with everyone and doesn't act like such a bully. They said he was showing off for me. That better be it.

Visit to Clint's fire station

Uncle Clint was on duty this Thanksgiving, so we stopped by the fire station to visit. It was really cute to see him and Ryland interact and play. Putting on the fireman's uniform
Ryland did not care for the helmet. This is the only picture I was able to snap before he slung it off.

Ryland loved the fire engine. He would talk, scream, and beat on the glass. He had a blast.
What is scarier than Uncle Clint driving a fire engine? Ryland driving one.

Great times and memories at the fire station. Uncle Clint is our hero.
