Happy Halloween

One scary family.
We had so much fun tonight. Ryland looked so cute in his monster costume, and he laughed at all the trick or treaters. We would hide behind the column on the front porch and jump out and scream boo at the little kids. It was a blast!

Did you know monsters eat pears? We did not have a high chair at Uncle Clint's house, so Ryland sat in his walker backwards to eat. Whatever works.

Family news

My grandfather has been having some health issues, and he has gotten worse lately. He has stopped eating and drinking, and he is ready to go. The hospice nurses have assured my grandmother that he isn't in pain. My dad has spent the past week in Texarkana helping my grandmother take care of him and make sure everything is in order.
We decided to drive over for the weekend for a family visit. It is hard to see my grandfather confined to a bed, and I pray for his peace.

Fall festival

Mother's Day Out had their annual fall festival. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, so all the festivities were moved inside. They had a cute fall backdrop and tons of little pumpkins everywhere.
I really love how his "school" goes all out for little occasions. They make it so much fun!

Scary blue monster

Ryland will be a scary blue monster for Halloween this year. I love Halloween, and I am really excited about this year. I found this cute costume about 2 months ago, and of course I had to order it for Ry. It is pretty dang hot, so I hope the weather is cool Halloween night.
Boo! He scared you!

Naked pictures

I wanted to get a picture of Ryland in his Halloween costume, and these were some of the extra shots because he got so hot in his costume. He was mad as hell until he got out of the costume. I love the top picture because it looks so sweet and innocent. The second picture cracks me up due to Spongebob.

Cookies for Ryland's festival

We thought it would be fun to bake some cookies for Ryland's upcoming festival at Mother's Day Out. After the cookie dough was all mixed, Ryland decided he was over it. He started screaming and yelling. I couldn't help but laugh, because at this point it was too late to quit. I calmed him down and we finished up the pumpkin shaped cookies.
Yum, the cookies were delicious! Especially right out of the oven.
They were a hit.

Feeling better

Ryland is feeling so much better today. He does not have a fever, and he is actually smiling again. We are very excited to have our happy little man back! Thanks for all yours prayers and thoughts.

Emergency Room

We had a major scare tonight with Ryland. John Chris and I had gone to the reunion dinner, and Ryland stayed with the family to play. An hour after we left, we got a phone call that Ryland had a fever of 103. Our food had just come out, but I decided to leave to go check on him. It only took about 10 minutes for me to get there and his fever was at 105. We immediately left for the emergency room. We were immediately seen at the hospital, and they began giving him meds to bring his fever down. They tested for swine flu, RSV, and pneumonia. They all came back negative. The conclusion was that he had a viral infection, and we were to take him home and wait it out. I called his pediatrician and told them the symptoms, and they were sure it was a kidney infection. Thank God!

10 year reunion

John Chris had his 10 year reunion kick off tonight. The homecoming football game did not go so well for the Bearcat team, but the old folks had fun in the cat box. It was cool to see all the old friends all grown up. The group met up at Sundown after the game for a few drinks and socializing. Of course there were the people that look exactly the same, the ones that have gained a little weight, the ones that you don't remember, and the ones who want to show off. (a 45 minute conversation about a Gucci purse and how much she loves Northpark) It was surprising to see how many people came and how many have moved back to town.

Sam's run

We had the monthly baby stuff run today. We filled the SUV with diapers, formula, food, and such. Ryland is holding a new Spongebob dvd while he naps. He loves the opening song, so I thought I would buy him the dvd for the truck. I hope he enjoys the tvs when he goes to the forward facing car seat.

Metroplex Moms event

I finally made it to a Metroplex baby event. I have been part of this group for about 6 months now, and I have not been active. I had a great time, and I met so many new and expecting mommies.
This event is held twice a year and only 100 mommies can come. We all have dinner, and draw numbers for prizes. I drew 81. Wouldn't you know? It was really funny though because I got the item that I wanted. It is a slip cover for a chair that has straps that will keep Ryland seated. check out www.mylittleseat.com
Tons of goodies for the moms. Strollers, cribs, car seats, to clothes and diaper bags.

Ryland loves books

Nanna gave Ryland a great new book that has textured areas. He could care less about that, because the book tastes so darn good.

All the boys

I caught the boys curled up in bed taking a nap. It was too cute not to photograph.

Cooper the ghost

Cooper's Halloween costume. The little hat did not fit Ryland, so we said what the heck let's try it on Cooper.

Family pictures

A sneak peak at our family photos. We had fun getting these made at the Arboretum, and we are very pleased at how they turned out.

Beauty shop fun

It was time for my highlight touch up, and Ryland could not wait to go with me. Sheree, my hairdresser, and all the ladies have a fit over Ryland, and he just eats it up. He is getting more and more curious these days, and now he is reaching for everything including the foil pieces. We had a fun time, and the roots look so much better!

Getting too big too fast

It hit me again today that Ryland is growing so quickly. Our little baby is growing up too fast.

Sam Moon field trip

Lindsey, Sarah, and myself were talking about Sam Moon over the weekend, and Sarah commented that she had never been. We decided to make it a field trip. It was pretty challenging to get all the car seats installed, strollers folded, diaper bags packed, babies strapped in, and mommies buckled up. We drove out to the new store that just opened on our side of town. After several unloading minutes and diaper changes, we were ready to go and check it out.
None of us could find anything that we just had to have. Ha!
So back to the car we went. We all loaded back in and headed back to the house. It was funny because I swear it took us longer to load and unload than we actually spent in the store. I could not imagine have 3 little ones of my own. Total craziness!

Oktoberfest

The Fam - Nanna, Me, John Chris, Grandpa David, and Ry
We took an outing to Oktoberfest to walk around and check out the festivities. It was a little chilly out, but the rain held off.

Nanna and Ryland

Brrrr.

We ran into the Wood and Owens Fams. We had a healthy lunch at Snuffers and watched a little football. We then went on a search for beer, because it just isn't Oktoberfest without it.

Here comes trouble in a pack of 3. Little Miss H has two big boys to watch out for her!

Nanna & Grandpa David come to town - separately

Dysfunction. Every family has some level of it, and we all just learn to laugh about it!

My mom and dad (divorced for numerous years) have come out to visit on the same weekend. It is a little awkward for me, but I am fortunate that they now get along. I know we will have a fun weekend, and we plan on enjoying every dysfunctional crazy moment.

Scottish Rite gift shop

I was trained to operate the gift shop tonight. It has been a long time since I have worked a register and sold nick knacks. It was a very quiet night, but I did have one sale. I sold a $3 gift bag! Wow! I hear that the gift shop gets busier closer to the holidays, and it is fun to see all the new holiday goodies as they arrive. I look forward to volunteering more and getting to know the team.

Buddies

Don't let him fool you Cooper! Ryland loves hugs, but he really loves to pull ears.
Ryland gets the biggest smile when we come home and Cooper is waiting on us. He smiles, giggles, and starts to squirm. We can't wait to see them play when Ryland gets mobile.

Officially joined

John Chris and I have been going to a local church off and on for the past couple of years, but we finally made it official. We made the decision to join. We are really happy with our choice, and the church staff have been very friendly and welcoming. We look forward to getting more involved!

Feeling better

We decided to go outside and get some fresh air. Ryland seemed to be feeling a little better today, and he even smiled a little.
I see a little grin peeking.

Sign arrives

The for sale sign arrived today. It was so easy to stick it outside right away, which I guess means I am now OK with our decision to sell. Since the community is gated, we can't put a sign outside the fence. We have placed flyers in the community box, and all the neighbors have started the chit chat. When the sign went out they all started asking about our plans. We will see what happens.

Stomach virus

Ryland has a stomach virus. It started with a little loose poop and has turned into a mess. I was a little concerned, so I took him to the doctor. We saw the PA, and she informed me that a nasty stomach bug has been going around. She said he should be better in 2-3 days.

I realized today that motherhood may "STINK" sometimes. I mean that literally. My poor little man blew out his diaper while sitting on my lap and blessed me with puke. Pooped and puked on in one day. My heart just breaks for him because he is so uncomfortable.

Dress up fun - Fall Flower

Ryland's teachers love to have photo shoots with the kiddos. This is the latest photo which is appropriate for the fall season. His face just cracks us up!
