Elmo Makes Music

Ridley and I had tickets to Elmo Makes Music in Grand Prairie.  It was a fun date with my little lady, but I was a little nervous.  Ridley is scared to death of mascots or anyone dressed up in some sort of full coverage costume.  She made a scene at a Chuck E Cheese birthday not long ago, and I promised myself I would get her over it.

Today, I learned that cotton candy and a little dancing can change the fear.  We danced and sang along to the show, and when the characters came out to the audience, Ridley was thrilled!  One of them came up and talked to her, and she didn't freak out.  I am so proud of my big girl!

Glass Elevator

The best thing about going to Dallas with Mommy was finding the joy in the small things.  Today, it was the glass elevator.  It was super cool to look over a part of Dallas from the top floor.  We rode the elevator up and down about 6 times.  We got a few funny looks from others, but the smile on her face when we got to the top was perfect.

Party Time

Reed, Ridley, and I celebrated our sweet neighbor's third birthday today.  It was a pretty day outside that was a little warmer than normal.  Ridley enjoyed the industrial bubble blower, which I immediately ordered.

Reed was the oldest boy at the party, so the little guys thought he was so cool.  He threw the ball too hard and ran too fast.  It wasn't long before he had to sit out.

My littles enjoying some birthday cake and ice cream.  These two love each other so much and play so well together.  I love to see their relationship grow, and they play so good together.

OWAN Invitations

The invitations are complete, and I worked on getting them stuffed and sorted.

To add a little pizazz to the envelopes, I stamped all 450 envelopes.

Ridley loves to help me, and it melts my heart.  She was barely out of bed this morning, when she started stuffing envelopes.  She is a total little busy bee!

Braiding

Queen Elsa Ridley asked for a braid this morning, and I thought I could just whip one out.  Boy, was I wrong.  I am more than a little rusty on my braiding skills, but she was pleased as could be.

Lunch Date

I had some errands in Southlake Town Square, so Ridley and I stopped off at the library for some new books and DVDs.  When we were walking back to the truck, Ridley said "I need some Mi Cocina, mommy."  She didn't have to twist my arm.  I needed some, too!  I love lunching with my little lady!

Firewoman

I love the days with my little Ridley!  We had a morning full of errands to get ready for her upcoming birthday party.  We stopped off at Firehouse for lunch, and the staff went crazy over her.  Before we left, she had a fireman hat, police badge, and lots of high fives.

Six Flags

While the big boys were away at the ranch, I took Reed and Ridley to Six Flags for some fun before the rain storm rolled in.  It was great, because there were no lines.  We all had a blast riding and playing in the kiddie area.  The favorite ride was the carousel horses, so we rode it several times.  We were keeping a close watch on the rain that was about to come through town, and we planned our meals and run to the car just in time.  It was a fantastic day!

Afternoon with my Sweet Littles

I spent the afternoon with my sweet littles, and I enjoyed laughing and being silly with them.  We started with a slightly earlier release from school, so we were able to check out the new Trolls movie.  Reed did great and can totally sit through a movie.  Ridley didn't do as well.  Now that she is potty trained, we made three bathroom trips, which kind of chopped up our movie.  All in all, Trolls was a cute movie with a sweet message.

Reed and Ridley are very close, and I melt when I see little moments like this.  He held her hand and helped her all the way down the steps.  Very sweet.

We headed over for ice cream at Cheesecake Factory and then made a stop at Kendra Scott for a little OUES fundraising benefit shopping.  After running into friends, a bit of playing at the fountain was necessary before heading home for some mac'n cheese.  Such a great afternoon!

Halloween

We have the best neighbors!  Today was the annual Halloween party, pet parade, and fun.  We waited on John Chris to come home, but when it didn't look like he would make it home from work in time, we headed out.  The hay ride was a big hit with the boys, but Ridley was a little unsure.  We then trick-or-treated around the neighborhood with our buddies and scored lots of candy.  Ryland and Reed had to empty their bags in the wagon to have more room.  Ridley had a great time walking from house to house, and everyone commented on her adorable witch costume.

Painted Pumpkins

We didn't carve pumpkins this year and instead, we painted some.  We all picked a design on Pinterest and got started.  I selected an Emoji.  It perfectly shows my ever present state of mind this month, and the kids love Emojis.

Ridley selected a white Hello Kitty.  It was looking great until she decided to add the brush water, which caused the paint to run.  She didn't seem to mind one bit, because she was thrilled with the final product.

Reed painted Steve from Minecraft, and it turned out great.  We didn't have a peachy flesh color, so we had to get creative with paint mixing.

Ryland went scary this year.  His picture was of a creepy clown face, so I knew he was going for something a bit more "mature".  The other kids didn't seem phased, and the pizza delivery guy loved it.

My Partner

My lunch date, and I love these days with her.  She is growing up so fast, and it is a blessing to have this time with her.  Today, we enjoyed errands and lunch before an hour at Michael's picking out Halloween treats.  She loved every minute of it, and so did I.  Love you Miss Riddles!

Scavenger Hunt

It is Columbus Day, and the kiddos are out of school.  They were bored, so I thought a scavenger hunt would be fun.  We made a list of things to find on our walk, and we were off.  We found lizards, flowers, acorns, and more.  It was great to see them work as a team, and we all had a blast.

Pampering

It was time for my nail appointment, and I had an adorable partner in crime.  Ridley was thrilled to sit at the nail counter and sip her Sprite.  It is hard being so darn cute.

Girls Day in Dallas

Ridley and I headed to Dallas for a bit of errands.  I had a doctor's appointment and needed to drop off my bracelet, and we decided to make a day out of it.  After my seeing my doctor, I took Ridley on an elevator ride.  The building is 16 stories, and the elevator is glass.  We didn't need to ride it, since my doctor was on the ground floor, but who can say no to a glass elevator.  Up and down.  Up and down.  Ridley was loving every trip.  We made six trips up and down while we giggled.

We headed to Northpark to drop off my bracelet, and Ridley had a blast playing on the planters.  I think every child in Dallas has climbed on these things, and Ridley finally had her turn.  We looked at the art sculptures and counted turtles under the bridge.  We had so much fun.

Sleepover at the Perot Museum

I have been really excited about taking the boys to a sleepover at the Perot.  We were thrilled to get a spot, even though it was right after returning from vacation.  It was a Super Hero themed night, and we all had a great time.  We couldn't help but think about the movie with Ben Stiller.  Would these guys come alive?

My Super Heroes

"Throw the bone!"

We also were treated to a 3D movie.  Overall the night was a great success, and we enjoyed exploring the museum with only a few hundred people.  When it was time to sleep, I got a big uncomfortable, but the boys were happy as could be.  We slept on the dinosaur floor with a great view.  Awesome night with my boys!

Garden Party at CHCS

Today was one of the best days ever.  Reed's class hosted a Garden Party for their Moms.  We enjoyed tasty muffins and juice while we looked at the class's beautiful art projects. My sweet Reed was so loving and proud to show off his art.  He made me a gorgeous watercolor hat, a portrait, and a hand printed towel.

My favorite thing was the card.  I love the fun questions and hilarious answers.  I asked Reed about the Ramen noodles, and he informed me that it is his favorite dish.  He wants me to make them everyday for dinner. Reed is too funny!

007: Mother and Son Bonding

The City of Grapevine hosted a mother and son date night with a James Bond theme.  I was really excited to take the boys and have some fun.  The atmosphere was very themed, and we had a blast!

After laser tag, we did a photo shoot.  They just told us to do 3 different poses in front of a green screen.  We didn't have a clue on how they would turn out.  Super cute!

We enjoyed a stretch Escalade limo ride around a few blocks while we jammed out to spy songs.  The boys loved the limo ride.  Absolutely their favorite!

We danced, ate, and did an Escape Room.  It was a great night with my favorite boys.

Spring Break 2016 - Terrific Tuesday

Terrific Tuesday got off to a slow and lazy start.  No alarm or rush to get dressed, which is a nice change to our normal routine.  The sweet treat for today was a trip to Chuck E Cheese for lunch and a long time to play games.

In keeping with our tradition, a group photo in the booth.  This pretty much sums up the end of our visit.  Ridley is exhausted and the boys are hyped up and ready to go.

Growing Up

I tucked my sweet Reed in bed tonight for the last time as a four year old.  He asked me to cuddle with him, and I was happy to oblige.  Reed has always been my sweet cuddler. I love this smart, funny, little boy so much.  He melts my heart.
