Halloween

We have the best neighbors!  Today was the annual Halloween party, pet parade, and fun.  We waited on John Chris to come home, but when it didn't look like he would make it home from work in time, we headed out.  The hay ride was a big hit with the boys, but Ridley was a little unsure.  We then trick-or-treated around the neighborhood with our buddies and scored lots of candy.  Ryland and Reed had to empty their bags in the wagon to have more room.  Ridley had a great time walking from house to house, and everyone commented on her adorable witch costume.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Ridley visited the doctor today, and we were delighted by their themed costumes.  The entire office was decorated and every employee had a Wizard of Oz costume. We are going to have to come back next year to see what they do.  So much fun!

Painted Pumpkins

We didn't carve pumpkins this year and instead, we painted some.  We all picked a design on Pinterest and got started.  I selected an Emoji.  It perfectly shows my ever present state of mind this month, and the kids love Emojis.

Ridley selected a white Hello Kitty.  It was looking great until she decided to add the brush water, which caused the paint to run.  She didn't seem to mind one bit, because she was thrilled with the final product.

Reed painted Steve from Minecraft, and it turned out great.  We didn't have a peachy flesh color, so we had to get creative with paint mixing.

Ryland went scary this year.  His picture was of a creepy clown face, so I knew he was going for something a bit more "mature".  The other kids didn't seem phased, and the pizza delivery guy loved it.

Tough Loss

This one hurt.  The boys gave it their all, but they fell short by one point.  They were disappointed, but they quickly recovered with a little candy from the cheerleaders.

Dinner with Grand Pops

While the boys spent the evening working on their Jiu Jitsu skills, we enjoyed some delicious Thai food with Grand Pops.  Ridley was quite the charmer but when told that she couldn't climb under the table, she pulled out the pouty lip.  Grand Pops didn't seem phased.  He just stuck his lip out, and this aggravated the drama queen.

Book Character Parade

Ryland and Reed had an awesome character parade at school.  The weather was beautiful, so the students paraded through the playground.  Ridley and I watched and cheered.
Ryland wore his Halo costume without the mask and weapons, so he could be a military guy  like in his book.  He was all smiles and first in his class line.

Reed was a super ninja from his Lego book, and he stayed in character the entire parade.  His eyes gave away the huge smile hidden by his mask.

Fall Festival

I had so much fun at Ridley's fall festival!  She loved every moment of the fun and games, and she was a huge hit with her adorable green feather witch costume.  The petting zoo was her favorite, and the animals loved her, too.  Maybe it was the feathers.

Dentist

It was time for the kiddos to get their 6 month dental cleaning.  They all had a great check up and no cavities!
The dentist shared Reed's pano X-ray, and I thought it was really cool to see all the teeth that are waiting to come in.

Football

Ryland is loving football this year.  He is engaged and going for it every game.  Today, he was on fire.  He saved 4 touchdowns by running down the runner and taking them to the ground.  The boy can run, fast.  He loves his coaches and teammates and looks forward to going every week.  Several parents and the coaches made numerous comments today about how well he was playing.  My favorite part was when he helped pull the other team's players off his buddy after a tackle.  He then helped pull his man up.  It made my heart melt.  Some other moms saw this and commented on how sweet this was of him.  That's my sweetie, Ryland!

My boys have been looking forward to Graham coming over for a playdate for days.  Our first stop, Yogurt Land.  This made for some hyper but happy kids.

My Partner

My lunch date, and I love these days with her.  She is growing up so fast, and it is a blessing to have this time with her.  Today, we enjoyed errands and lunch before an hour at Michael's picking out Halloween treats.  She loved every minute of it, and so did I.  Love you Miss Riddles!

Scavenger Hunt

It is Columbus Day, and the kiddos are out of school.  They were bored, so I thought a scavenger hunt would be fun.  We made a list of things to find on our walk, and we were off.  We found lizards, flowers, acorns, and more.  It was great to see them work as a team, and we all had a blast.

Player of the Game

Reed played like a champion today.  He pulled his first flag, and it pumped him up!  He was named Player of the Game.  Go Reed!

Shocked

A blood pressure check with three young children in tow - this could have gone really bad.  I was shocked to see the three of them reading in the waiting room and behaving.  It was a great visit, and I was so proud.

Awards at Practice

Ryland was given a few awards at practice today for his awesome performance at Saturday's game.  The top prize was Pokemon cards.  These cards are super popular, so he was swarmed by his teammates to see what he received. I was so proud of him, and he was so excited to be recognized.
