Christmas Festival

Another awesome Christmas festival at WCUMC.  We had so much fun, and we didn't have a chance to take pictures until we were leaving.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful church.

Fall Festival

I had so much fun at Ridley's fall festival!  She loved every moment of the fun and games, and she was a huge hit with her adorable green feather witch costume.  The petting zoo was her favorite, and the animals loved her, too.  Maybe it was the feathers.

Christmas Festival

Our church had the annual Christmas Festival, and it was a blast.  Not only were there bounce houses and games, but they have added rides and fireworks.  The most popular ride was the snow tubing, and Ryland loved it.

Reed wasn't interested in the tubing.  He stayed busy bouncing in every bounce house with a slide.

Even with all the commotion, Ridley was worn out and fell asleep, but I am sure next year will be a different story.

Fall Festival

Ridley was an adorable Itsy Bitsy Spider.  She was a trooper with the pettiskirt and Halloween outfit.  I stayed to watch the costume parade and pumpkin picking.  Ridley loved all the festivities.

Reed was a handsome Captain America.  He walked the parade with his buddy, Silas, and waved at all the parents.

Fall Festival

I woke up a bit early this morning with a wake up request from Ryland and Reed.  They were ready to go to school in their costumes, and it was time for everyone to wake up.  It was 6:30.  They quickly ate breakfast and had their SWAT uniforms on without assistance.

The treats were complete, and we were ready for our first invasion.  Chapel Hill, here we come.

WCUMC Christmas Festival

We had a wonderful afternoon at the White's Chapel Christmas Festival.  The boys started with the snow tubing hill before the line was too long.  Reed jumped right in with no fear, and he was laughing the whole way.  Ryland was a bit more timid, and he actually didn't want to go until Reed went first.  He did slide down and ended up very happy.
We headed on to the carnival games, so the boys could win some trinket prizes.  John Chris and I were shocked to see that Ryland wanted to play every single game.  Reed was more interested in getting in the bounce houses.

We ended the evening at the fountain, and I snapped my favorite picture of the boys.  The true meaning of the season.

Ryland's Christmas Festival

We were so excited to attend the Christmas Festival at the boys' school. Ryland and his class would be performing, and this was the first time we would watch our boy in an audience. When we asked Ryland about the program, he would tell us he would be singing about baby Jesus in the manger. We noticed him singing and doing hand motions that corresponded with the song, so were excited to see the show. Ryland's class lined up on the stage to get ready to start.
Away in a Manger was the first song, and as they started singing, Ryland sang and participated in the choreographed hand motions. We were pleasantly surprised that he didn't get shy or embarrassed.

"lay down his sweet head"

The second performance was Jingle Bells complete with actual jingle bells.

Our little performer once again sang along and jingled his bells. He did a fantastic job, and we are very proud of him.

Reed thought the performance was awesome. He was proud of his brother too!

Christmas festival

I bundled up the boys for afternoon/evening of fun at our church's Christmas festival. White's Chapel holds an annual festival, and they go all out. Bounce houses, a petty zoo, pony rides, games, a laser light show, and more. Reed was a trooper as he took it all in. He laughed and giggled at all the sights.
Ryland loved all the cool bounce houses and games. He could have stayed all night in the cold weather.

John Chris joined us after work for dinner and more festival fun. Ryland and John Chris checked out the animals in the petting zoo.

We had a wonderful time, and the evening was finished with a laser light show. As I sat in front of the sanctuary with my family waiting on show to begin, I was in awe of the beautiful fountain. This was the first time I had seen it at night, and it was just absolutely striking. What a wonderful reminder that Jesus is the reason for the season!

Fall festival

Ryland wore his fisherman costume to school today for their fall festival. They had tons of fun stuff planned for the day including a petting farm, hay ride, games, and pizza. I snapped a quick shot of Ryland in front of the fall display they had assembled. He was completely worn out when I picked him up, and was ready for bed at 7:30. I think he had a blast.

Main Street Festival

Grapevine was having the annual Main Street Festival this weekend, and we thought it would be fun to take the kiddos out for a look. It was overcast and cloudy when we left the house, but it quickly heated up making outside feel like a sauna. We didn't stay long due to the heat and the lack of vendors that were actually set up. I think we were just a little too early. We will try to come back later this weekend.
This little building was Grapevine's first jail. It is right on Main Street, and we couldn't resist locking up the children.
Ryland, Harker, and Jackson also known as Jailbirds.

Obviously Harker is the smarter one, or both her parents could be attorneys. She bails first.
