Dentist

It was time for the kiddos to get their 6 month dental cleaning.  They all had a great check up and no cavities!
The dentist shared Reed's pano X-ray, and I thought it was really cool to see all the teeth that are waiting to come in.

Teeth!

Ryland has been losing teeth every other week.  He went to the dentist this morning, and he had a great check up.  When I met with the dentist afterwards, she showed me the awesome panoramic x-ray.  Look at all those teeth ready to come in.  Crazy!

Dentist

Ryland had a couple cavities, so he had a little bit of dental work done today.  It was a delight for me, because he got laughing gas.  Hahaha!  There were lots of laughs for me, too.  Our trip home was filled with funny conversation, drooling, and a lot of funny faces.

Dentist

Time for our cleaning, and today was Reed's first time to see the dentist.  I had been dreading this appointment for a few weeks, because I know how quickly things can get out of hand with a certain strong willed little guy.  Ryland and I had our appointments first, so Reed could watch.  He even helped out with Mr. Thirsty.
When it was Reed's turn, he refused to sit in the chair alone.  Ryland offered to sit with him for support.  Reed warmed up to our hygienist quickly and was happy to pick out a new toothbrush and toy after his cleaning.  Success!  Both boys want to know when they can come back to the dentist.

Tooth Fairy at school

Ryland's class was surprised by a super cool visitor.  The Tooth Fairy stopped by to talk to the children about brushing and flossing to keep their smiles healthy and beautiful.  They all got a new toothbrush and tube of toothpaste.  Ryland shared the message with us, and we practiced the new tips. He is very interested in teeth all of a sudden. We may have a dentist in the making - or a tooth fairy.

Dentist

Ryland and I had our 6 month dentist check up.  He acted so grown up and wasn't nervous or scared.  He sat down in the waiting room and grabbed Time

Ryland's cleaning and exam went well, and he has no cavities.  Yes!  Great job!

Dentist

Ryland is such a big boy!  He saw the dentist for the first time today, and I could not believe how wonderful he did.  John Chris and I started playing dentist at home, and Ryland came with both of us to watch our visits.  We made sure that he would enjoy the dentist instead of being fearful.  He had 20 teeth and no cavities, and the x-rays showed his big teeth lined up waiting for their turn to shine.  The hygienist gave him a cool Cars toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and a few toys, because he did so well.

Dentist observation

I took Ryland along with me to the dentist, so he could observe my teeth cleaning. He was very interested and stood right by my side watching. The hygienist explained everything and what they will do when he comes to visit. She also told Ryland he would get to pick out a toy when he comes, and all of a sudden there was no hesitation. He told me he wanted to go to the dentist. Actually he screamed all the way home that he wanted to go to the dentist right now. I think the toy had some pull. I have to admit, I do love the new toothbrush and floss kit I get.
