Elmo Makes Music

Ridley and I had tickets to Elmo Makes Music in Grand Prairie.  It was a fun date with my little lady, but I was a little nervous.  Ridley is scared to death of mascots or anyone dressed up in some sort of full coverage costume.  She made a scene at a Chuck E Cheese birthday not long ago, and I promised myself I would get her over it.

Today, I learned that cotton candy and a little dancing can change the fear.  We danced and sang along to the show, and when the characters came out to the audience, Ridley was thrilled!  One of them came up and talked to her, and she didn't freak out.  I am so proud of my big girl!

Showing off

The boys had new audience to entertain this evening.  One of their Dad's best friends from high school came to spend a few days with us, and this was the first time the boys had met Trevor.  Let's just say it was a total show!

House showing

Of course this would happen while I was out of town. Our REALTOR called to see if she could show our home, and I am out of town. Yikes! There was no way I was going to say no, but I was really nervous that John Chris would leave a mess. I stressed how important it was that the house was clean, picked up, and together. I maybe went a little overboard on all of my directions, and by the 3rd phone call of reminders he told me to back off.

After the showing, our REALTOR called with great news. The lady loved our home, and she asked lots of the "right" questions. How much earnest money? How soon can we close? What are the utility bills? Etc. I was told to expect an offer in the next few days. The only possible problem was if she could get her financing taken care of while she was in the US. Cross your fingers! Come on St. Joseph!

Dallas Bridal Show

Caid Floral participated in the Dallas Bridal Show this weekend.
I came across an article that said 85% of brides request a white/ivory floral bouquets for their weddings, so I decided to create all white/ivory bouquets with a touch of greenery. The color scheme turned out perfect, and I really liked the dramatic look of all one color of bloom. The attendees really liked it as well. We had so many nice and complimentary comments on how beautiful the booth was. I was very flattered.
The show was a huge success for business. I have had so many emails and phone calls about booking wedding dates. I love working with the brides, and I look forward to what the future brings. I am on cloud 9 filled with happiness.

I could not have pulled this show off without my dear friend, Chanda. She stood on her feet, talked to potential clients, and made me laugh for two straight long days. I can not begin to thank her enough. She is a doll!
Thanks also to John Chris and Brad for helping with set up and tear down.

DWeddings & Adolphus Haute Wedding Show

Caid Floral was invited to attend the 2008 Haute Wedding Show sponsored by DWeddings & the Adolphus. We were really excited and honored to be included in this awesome and elite group in Dallas. The show went extremely well, and I met some great brides and several talented vendors. This journey is so fun and exciting. I truly enjoy every bit of it!
