Happy Father's Day!

Daddy's first father's day! We all had a great day, and we surprised John Chris with the new camera he wanted. He was so happy!Ryland loves Daddy!

Meeting some more family

Ryland met his great grandmother Bobby, great grandpa Boots, several uncles, aunts, and cousins this weekend. We had a great visit with family, and they all were able to love on Ry Ry.

Ryland plays supermodel

Ryland had some photos taken today, and he really "worked it". We had a ton of fun posing him and trying to make him smile. Once we got him going, he started acting like a model. The pictures turned out cute, and they made great father's day gifts. We can't wait to go again!

Mommy gets a new ride

I picked up my new mommy ride today, and I am so excited. I have to admit I had a little moment when I was turning in my old keys. I guess it just hit me that now I am more concerned with cargo space rather than speed. It is super cool to load everything in and go, and I am looking forward to driving it out of town this weekend.

Branda's 1 year anniversary

Happy anniversary to Brad and Chanda! We wish them many more years of happiness and love.

Best Saturday ever!

We spent the afternoon in the pool. The boys looked too cool in their shades.
That evening we went to the Blues Festival in the village. Ryland loved the music, and he was very chill. Maybe he will be a musician?

The boys jammed out. They danced all evening.

Bumbo and tummy surfboard

Ryland had some "sitting" time in his Bumbo today. He likes to chill and watch me work at the desk. I think he looks so funny in the chair, because it seems like his neck disappears. Too cute!

Ryland finally locked his eyes on the animals in the water pouch on the tummy surfboard. He watched the yellow fish for a while today, and he just giggled and squealed!

Mommy needs a SUV

After a crazy weekend of hauling and delivering flowers, I realized that I need a SUV. BAD!
I am so over trying to cram everything in the trunk of my car. I absolutely love my car and feel that I will be a total mom if I trade it in. I guess it is about time to suck it up and get a momma mobile. Don't worry, I didn't say a mini van.

Rollie Ryland

Ryland had another first today. He was having tummy time when he pushed up and rolled over to his back. I immediately started cheering - then started crying with joy. We will have to keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't get hurt. He is a little Rollie pollie!

To the gym we go

Today was my first day back at the gym, and Ryland went for the first time. Our gym has an awesome child center that will take infants at 12 weeks. I toured the facility and talked to the director about all the details, and I feel really comfortable leaving him while I workout. I just have to make an appointment with the infant room 48 hours in advance. I thought that making an appointment would be a pain, but maybe it will make ME go workout.

As for the pain I am feeling this evening, ouch!

The Colonial

We went to the Colonial in Ft. Worth with Brad and Chanda. It was pretty darn hot outside until we found a shady spot on the 13th hole. We had a great time watching the caddie races and the tournament.

Ryland meets Aunt B and cousin John

Aunt B and John flew back today from visiting Jake, Jenn, and Brandon. We picked them up from the airport and had a chance to visit for a little while. They met Ryland and had some time to hold him and show us pictures of little Brandon. He is adorable, and I look forward to him and Ryland playing together soon.

Laundry helpers

Ryland and Cooper are not big laundry helpers! I guess they were bored to naps. Typical boys!

Scottish Rite Hospital volunteer placement

I went to my first meeting for my new JLD placement tonight. I am very excited about the upcoming year at Scottish Rite Hospital. The hospital specializes in care for children and all of the services that they offer are 100% free to all patients. Some of the members of this placement have been volunteering at Scottish Rite for up to 9 years in a row. They all say it is an awesome placement that will be very special and rewarding. I can't wait to get started!

Hanging with Gigi

We spent some time with Gigi on this visit to Ruston. She loved to hug and hold Ryland, and he went right to sleep. We were sad that Ryland did not get to meet his Great Grandfather, but we know he is watching from above.

Jeffery graduates

We headed to Ruston to celebrate Jeffery's graduation from Tech. We are all really proud of him, and we know that he will be very successful! We had some nice and relaxing time by the pool and lots of delicious crawfish. The pool water was still a little cold, so Ryland just stuck his feet in to cool off.
What a way to end the day! Ryland snuggles with his grandparents, and they drift off to sleep.

2 month checkup

Ryland had his 2 month check up today. He weighed in at 14lbs and 24.25" long. He is in the 90-95 percentile. I will just say that Ryland is a big boy. He has definitely filled out, and he has plumped up. The doctor said that Ryland looked great and not to worry about his size. It was also time for Ryland to get his shots. It was very hard to watch, but the nurses did a great job getting it over fast.

3rd annual Midbury Classic

We were invited to the 3rd annual Midbury Classic Beer Pong Tournament again this year. This is a huge party that is always a blast! John Chris's parents came to town to watch Ryland, so John Chris and I could have a good time. We did have a great time, but neither of our pong teams were any good. We both were out of the tournament in just 2 games! Oh well, we don't really go to win. We go for the drinks and fun! Needless to say at the end of the night, almost everyone ended up in the pool with their clothes on. Who needs swimsuits?

JLD mommy group meeting

I had my first mommy group meeting since I had Ryland. About half of the group has had their babies, and it was fun to see all the new additions. We shared our labor and delivery stories with the soon to be moms and each other.

Ryland was the only boy, so he was the mack daddy. He told me he liked hanging out with the honeys!

Play mat

Ryland is learning to swat and play with his hanging toys on his play mat. He loves the music the monkey plays and enjoys kisses from the zebra.
