Easter Bunny Visits

Once again, the Easter Bunny left a trail of huge footprints to the treats.  Along the way he dropped jelly beans and slipped on a toy.

Goodies!  Goodies!  Goodies!

Eggs

After a full few days away, we still needed to dye some pretty eggs.  It was the perfect way to wrap up the evening.  We are ready for the Easter Bunny!

Easter Bunny 2016

I had big plans for last minute photos with the Easter Bunny, but we were at the mall right by him this evening.  I gave in and "hopped" in line.  The kiddos didn't have on their cute clothes, and I had no prep time with Ridley.  This is the best we could get.

Visit from the Easter Bunny

Ryland, Reed, and Ridley woke to find bunny footprints and a trail of jelly beans.  They followed the trail from the pool bath door to the fireplace in the family room.

They found fun treats in their new Easter baskets!  They were so excited to dig in.  The Easter Bunny brought a little candy, pool toys, and craft kits.

Easter Bunny

I am still super excited about this picture!  I just can't believe this worked out so great.  All three children are in clean, matching clothes with the happiest of smiles with the Easter Bunny.  What?  This is not what I was expected, but I love it!

Easter 2014

The Easter Bunny came to visit, and he left quite a mess!  There were footprints from the pool bath door to the fireplace and a trail of jelly beans.  He left books, kites, candy, and art sets.  Awesome!

Ryland made tons of Easter themed pictures over the past few weeks.  Our favorite picture was of an Easter basket with a hand written message.

Easter Bunny

This moment didn't quite end up looking like I thought it would.  I woke up early to make sure the littles' clothes were clean and ironed.  My plan was to pick up the boys at school and swing by the house to change for pictures with the Easter Bunny.  Needless to say things went completely crazy and it started to rain.  I finally just had everyone load up to head out to see if the bunny was still taking pictures.  The boys had on their dirty school clothes, and Ridley was still in her pajamas.  At least we were able to hide all the tattoos Reed put on his arms!  Creating memories!

Easter Bunny & Eggs

The Easter Bunny came to see the boys, and he left goodies!  Ryland and Reed were thrilled to see all the candy, books, and trinkets that filled their Easter baskets.

If you have ever wondered how the Easter Bunny gets in your house, we figured it out.  He comes through the front door, or at least he did this year.  He left bunny prints from the door all the way to the family room where he dropped off the baskets.  Silly bunny!

The boys were excited to hunt for eggs.  They put on their comfy clothes and grabbed their new grabbers.

Just about...

A little help from Daddy and Reed was able to get an egg off the stone fence.

Cooper sniffed out the eggs for Reed.

After all the eggs were found, we enjoyed the beautiful day outside.  John Chris and I started talking about landscaping the back yard.  We heard the boys laughing hysterically, so we walked over to see what was so funny.  Reed had smashed all the eggs in his basket.  He either slammed them on the concrete patio or crushed them with his hands.  He also attempted to eat a few.  Yummy shells too.

Happy Easter

The Easter bunny visited the boys and left lots of goodies.
He left a trail of jelly beans from both boys' bedrooms down the stairs to the family room. It was hard to keep Cooper from nibbling them, so we held him back until the boys woke up. At first Ryland thought the bunny made a mess, but we explained that he put them out so they could find the baskets.
Ryland was thrilled to see a new coloring book about Firefighters!
Reed looked through his goodies, and then he started sneaking to Ryland's stash. He had his eye on the carrot golf club.
A quick smile while wearing the bunny mask, and it was time to get ready for church. We have been talking a lot about Easter, but Ryland doesn't get that Jesus grew up. He still refers to him as Baby Jesus. We have a great board book that is age appropriate, and we have been reading it in hopes of it clicking one day. We attended the N'awlins Gumbo Kings service, and Ryland was excited to come to big church with mommy and daddy. Reed made it for about 15 minutes before heading to the nursery.
After church and a late lunch at MiCocina, we came home for short naps before hunting eggs. The silly Easter bunny hid some eggs low and some high. We think he was trying to allow both boys to find eggs.
The butterflies were beautiful today. There were about 5 or 6 that were all over one of our bushes in the backyard.
Reed found two eggs.
The eggs were crushed, but that didn't stop the fun. Go get them, Reed.
Since we had a good bit of rain Easter morning, the eggs were suffering. The dye was getting pretty messy. The bright color was rubbing off everywhere.
Ryland was once again covered in dye and this time he was over it! The egg hunt is a wrap.

Easter party

We headed to the GCSML's Easter party at Parr Park. While we were driving, I told the boys that the Easter bunny would be there, and I would love to get a picture of them with the bunny. I asked Ryland what he thought about that. He informed me that he was going to "slap the bunny's arm". Hmmmm... OK. I assumed he was going to give him five. When the photographer sent me the proofs, I died out laughing. I had to have this one.
Ryland ran out with the crowd of children to gather eggs. It was much like a pack of animals with lots of screaming. It was hilarious!
The little ones had a separate area to gather eggs for their baskets. Reed wasn't really into putting them in his basket. He preferred to shake them.
After Ryland and the big kids found all their eggs, they came over to finish up the little kids' area. Ryland explained putting the eggs in a basket to Reed. They gathered up the last few eggs around.
The boys played on the playground for a little while until their curiosity peaked. They started opening their eggs to find tons of goodies.
Reed wanted to slide one more time before we left. I swear he was worn out.
Ryland begged all the way home to look through his candy eggs. We all sat out in the driveway and opened all the eggs to find out what all they had collected. There were tons of jelly beans and sugar treasures that had us all pumped up after about 30 minutes. Ah, what a sugar high.
Reed soon tried to walk off all that candy. He started walking circles around the driveway. I love this adorable grin.

Easter 2011

The Easter bunny left baskets for the boys. Ryland ran to his basket and started digging through it to see what new stuff was left for him. He grabbed the boat and monster truck right away.
Reed was a bit more laid back about his Easter basket. I love his expression. He is like "whatever".

After church I tried to take a few shots of Ryland, but he kept giving me frownie faces. Awwwww, how sad.

I finally got a cheese out of him!

We changed out of our church clothes and got busy decorating eggs.

We had a great time coloring and decorating the eggs. We talked about all the different colors and put lots of stickers on the eggs.

Ryland took a nap, and the Easter bunny came back by the house to hide the eggs. As soon as he woke up, we headed to the yard to find them.

Cooper wanted in on the fun as well. He would try to snatch the eggs that Ryland was hunting. I guess he thought they looked like balls.

He is so proud of himself!

John Chris bonds with Reed while recording Ryland hunting for eggs. How cute!
