Exploring Meads Bay

We walked to the end of Meads Bay this evening to explore the rocky cliff and cove.  Miss Ridley was in a very independent mood, so she led the way.  I love the sweet little footprints that she left behind.

When we reached the end of the beach, we waded through a bit of water around a rock. There was a small little cove under the huge cliff with a small private beach.  It was gorgeous.  On the way back, I caught Ryland and Reed making sure Ridley made it safely back to the beach.  They are great protectors.

Sand

Dreaming of Anguilla sand, but this will do for today.  They had so much fun, and now we know that Ridley will be right in the middle of the sandcastle fun when we are on vacation.

Anguilla

We made it to Anguilla, and it is as beautiful as ever.  The beach is gorgeous with cool, refreshing water.  We enjoyed relaxing, playing in the sand, drinking fresh coconut milk, and making family memories.  We all love it here!

Fun outside

We started the day at Parr Park in Grapevine.  The boys were a little cautious of the splash pad when we first arrived, so we headed to the playground first.

After sliding and climbing for a little while, the boys were hot and sweaty.  The splash pad looked a lot more appealing, so they ran over to cool off.  The first moment they hit the chilly water was too funny.  It was almost like they were in shock.

We spent the entire afternoon playing in the backyard at home.  I love to watch them play on the swings and dig in the sand.  Reed ran over to say, "I love you to the moon and back the mostest".  (Our special little saying.) He then disappeared back into the sand box with his brother.

We wrapped up the evening with a cold popsicle, and Ryland did a little jumping. It was wonderful to have Ryland and Reed at home.   I missed my boys so much, and I am so happy they are back!

Such a hard life

Reed was upset because the cheese puffs didn't come out fast enough.  Really?  Look around kid.  You shouldn't have a care in the world. He quickly realized he had a cheese puff in his hand, so the crying stopped immediately. Gotta love snacks on the beach!

The boys were being silly and chasing each other around.

Reed almost becomes a casualty.

Ryland isn't giving up.

John Chris grabs him and runs into the ocean.  The laughter is delightful and contagious.

Reed and I sit in the sand and play with the cups.  We dig and pile sand while chatting about life in his very mature and intelligent toddler language.

Ryland and John Chris got creative and made a bulldozer and a pay loader.  Very impressive skills.

A day in paradise

We enjoyed another beautiful day on Shoal Bay East.  It was beautiful!  We walked down the beach to the spot where John Chris and I got married.  We told the boys that fact, and they just looked at us like we were silly.  "Why?" said Ryland.

Reed was determined to walk in the sand.  He would waddle back and forth not wanting any help.

We would dig a big hole in the sand close to the water.  We would play trucks, tractors, and anything else that Ryland would come up with.  This is one huge sandbox!

After a fun day, we headed back "home" to get changed for dinner.  Reed didn't want to follow the sidewalk and kept walking off into the lush landscaping.  This really upset Ryland, and he tried grabbing Reed's arm and making him hold hands.  He kept telling Reed that there could be snakes in there.

We tried a new place for dinner tonight.  We heard about Blanchard's Beach Bar on the other side of the island, so we had to go check it out.  It is a little, casual grill house beside their other restaurant, Blanchard's.  We had hamburgers, chicken strips, fries, and rum drinks while sitting at tables in the sand.  After finishing their food, the boys played while John Chris and I talked.  This is the perfect place for us.

After a long day of playing in the sun, it was time to get some sleep.  The boys picked a movie and got comfy in their pajamas.  It was the best day with our boys.

Playhouse fun

Reed is determined to climb up to the playhouse.  He doesn't want any help, and he is very insistent that he do it himself.  He starts screaming if you even come near him.  He probably has caught on that if Mommy or Daddy is there they will put him on the slide or on the ground.  He is getting pretty close, and it won't be long before he is successful.
Ryland is pretty bossy.  He screams at Reed to "GET DOWN". "YOU ARE JUST A BABY!"
The boys love to slide.  They go down on their booties, tummies, or backs.  Their favorite way to slide is together.  Ryland lets Reed sit in his lap and off they go.  Pile up at the bottom with lots of laughs!
Ryland enjoys pulling up grass.  He tugged on a St. Augustine runner, and it popped right up and hit him in the face.
The sandbox has become a favorite place to play.  It is shaded, dirty, and fun!  The boys dig and play together while laughing and chatting.   We have already added two bags of sand, and it is quickly disappearing.
The sadness of having to get out of the sandbox to eat.  Absolutely terrible!

Playing in the sand

Our play group met at Bicentennial Park to have some fun in the sunny, warmer weather. Ryland was most concerned about the park having a sand box, so he could play with his tractors. When we arrived at the park, we found a huge sand box. It even had a digger. Ryland and Harker took turns digging and scooping the sand. One of them would push sand in the bucket, and the other one would dump it out with the handles. Their friend, Natalie, got in on the fun for a second, but decided it wasn't that great. I was amazed that even though there was a huge wooden play castle with slides, Ryland wasn't interested. He was very much into sand, dirt, and his tractors.

Afternoon on a boat

We spent the afternoon in the bay on a boat. It was a great way to enjoy the outdoors. I was a little unsure of how the little boys would act on the boat, but I was pleasantly surprised. Ryland loved to ride at the front looking out at the water.

He had a great time chilling and snacking.

Jackson and Ryland had a ton of fun and now want a boat back home.

Not only did the kiddos love the boat, the parents had a great time too.

We stopped on a little island in the bay to play in the sand.
Ryland loved to drive the boat.

The key turned into a phone, and Ryland answered the call. He wouldn't say who was calling.

Ryland and Jackson found a buoy and started crawling back and forth over it. The simplest things seem to keep them occupied.
