Last Peak

It has been several months since I have had a sonogram, so I was really excited for my appointment. I was excited to see my little girl again and double check that everything is progressing normally.  Everything checked out great, and the sonogram tech estimates that she weighs about 7.5 pounds.

Baby progress

My appointment went well this morning. We had a sonogram first, so we could get a sneak peak at the baby. He looks great, and he seems to be pretty darn happy. It was no surprise to us that he would measure big, and he didn't disappoint. He is currently measuring about 2-3 weeks ahead and weighs in at 7lbs 10 oz (plus or minus half a lb). This is a bit scary for me, because he could get pretty darn big by his due date. After speaking with the doctor, we are going to see how things go, but we are tentatively planning on inducing at 39 weeks.

Baby update

I had the monthly doctor visit, repeat sonogram, and glucose test this morning. I was a little nervous about the sonogram, and I was really ready to have an answer. I have thought about the potential kidney issue for the past month, and I had an odd reassuring feeling that the kidneys were just fine. I started with the sonogram and was pleasantly put at ease. The kidneys were visible and functioning, and the baby looked great! The baby's heart rate was 146 bpm, and I will have the glucose test results in a couple days. So far so good.

Sonogram

I am a little over the half way point of being pregnant. It amazes me that the time has gone by so darn fast. I had my sonogram and doctor appointment today, and we were able to take another peek at our little bambino. The tech confirmed that we are expecting a boy and gave us another shot of his parts. Ryland was at home with Lizzie, and John Chris and I had plenty of time to check out #2 without disruption.
After the sonogram, I met with the nurse practitioner. I swore after my last visit with her about 4 years ago that I would never see her again. I was quickly reminded of why I dislike her so much. Absolutely harsh and no bedside manner! She informed me that they could not see the baby's kidneys, so I would need to come back for another sonogram in 4 weeks. If they couldn't see the kidneys on that visit, they would send me to a specialist. Not to worry.
Well, how can I possibly not worry? I will be worried sick for the next 4 weeks, and I will be in a complete tizzy the day of the sonogram. We just pray that everything is normal and put our trust in the Lord.

Sonogram

The first picture of our precious little baby due March 12, 2011.
We were really looking forward to having the sonogram and seeing the doctor today. I was relieved to see only one baby on the screen and see the heart pumping blood. Everything looks great, and the heartbeat was 160 bpm. So cute!

Blood pressure scare

I received a phone call about a doctor's appointment that I did not schedule. Come to find out my new doctor wanted me to come back in to have my blood pressure re-checked. When I got to her office, I was called back for a sonogram. What? I was not prepared to have a sonogram, and I began to get scared. Everything with the baby looked fine, but my blood pressure was even higher than my previous appointment. The nurses ordered some blood work, and I was sent immediately to the hospital.

I called John Chris to meet me there. I was hooked up to monitor the baby and my blood pressure. The nurse started asking me questions about pain management, epidural, circumcision, and living wills. I started to freak out. I thought I was ready to have Ryland, but I quickly realized that I was not. I spent several hours in triage being monitored, and I am now on bed rest.

Our 1st sonogram

We had our first doctor's appointment and sonogram on August 28. We were very nervous and excited. Everything looked great. We were able to see Baby Allison and hear a heartbeat!!!! Words can not describe our excitement.
