Playdate with Ryder

Ridley had her buddy, Ryder, over to play today.  They had a great time upstairs in the gameroom.  We had a tent set up, so they jumped in and giggled for hours.  They played with the roller coaster and all the random toys.  They found new uses and games for the stuff laying around the room.  I love their imagination.

Copycat

Ridley loves her older brothers, and she tries to do everything they do.  Good and bad.  This morning Ryland pulled his hood over his head, because he wasn't quite awake or in a good mood.  It was his way of telling us to leave him alone.  Ridley thought that this was funny, so she grabbed her blanket and made a hood.  When Ryland saw this, he burst out laughing.  The morning mood was quickly changed.  Thanks to the copycat!

Spring Break 2016 - Wacky Wednesday

It was another great day spent enjoying the lack of alarms and appointments.  Today we were wacky.  Everything we did was done backwards or with a silly twist.  We played lots of games, had breakfast for lunch, and acted like we didn't have a care in the world.

Friends

Ryland has made a great friend at school, and he and Grant are big buds.  It is so much fun to see them interact and play but most of all just be silly boys.

Silly Photography

I love when I find extra pictures on my phone.  These are a few silly pictures that Reed took one evening.  Thanks for the giggles, buddy.

Too big

Reed is a fun loving kiddo.  This afternoon he decided that he would set up some obstacles and roll around on Ridley's princess ride. I think he is just a little bit too big for it, but he was having a blast.

Hair Bows

Silly moods bring silly pictures.  Ridley loves to accessorize with bows, clips, and anything that adds some style.  Ridley piled on some clips and headbands.

Ryland had to take part in the fun, so he started putting on headbands.

Ryland made me promise not to text the picture to anyone.  Another reminder that he is getting so big so fast.  I love that we had this silly moment, and I love the way Ridley looks at him.

Bus Stop

Today as Ridley and I waited for Ryland to get off the bus, she was intrigued by our neighbors' flower bed.  She thought it was necessary to trample through the plants.  You can see the delight on her face, even when she isn't looking.

When I finally get her attention and tell her to stop.  This is the look I get.  Oh Miss Ridley, you are a little mess!

Hide and Seek

Ridley's favorite game is hide and seek.  Today she thought the shoe basket would help hide her, so she climbed right in.  Completely disappeared!

Bath Time Silliness

These boys are so much fun.  Tonight while bathing, Ryland and Reed got a little carried away with the foam soap.  They laughed hysterically as they created hair for one another.

Funny Faces

Reed and Ridley are the best of buddies, and they are so silly together.  A simple request for a picture turned into a funny faces fiasco.  Within seconds, Reed had Ridley giggling uncontrollably.

Silly boys and bows

Everyone knows that I am loving everything girly, but my boys are loving girly things too.  I made a headband bow for my new niece, and before I knew what was going on, Ryland came in wearing about 7 of Ridley's bows.  It was hilarious, because he was wearing one over his eye like an eye patch.

Reed decided to join the fun and model the headband bow I just finished making. I am sure it will be even more adorable on its special recipient.
After I explained that it was a gift, he just traded it for a teal satin flower.  He cracked me up when he struck this pose.  These boys are wonderfully silly.

What a day of fun!

We started the day with a little blastball.  Reed's team cracks me up, because they still all run after the ball.  Instead of being a team, they race each other to the ball.  Today it was a team pile up.

Ryland played in the foam pit at Brady's birthday party.  It started out fun, but then became a nasty mess of mud foam.  All the kiddos had to be hosed down before enjoying some baseball themed grub.

We finished the afternoon playing at home.  Reed had some "headless" fun with the Lego men, which freaked me out a bit, but I was pleased to see a little OCD trait.

The boys played a little rough house while Ridley grinned with delight that she could see them all.   She was playing, too!

My sweeties

Wouldn't you know that the coolest toy in our house is Ridley's new play mat.  She was in my office playing when her big brothers wanted to get in on the fun.  They were giggling and acting silly, and Ridley loved it.  She is lucky to have such wonderful big brothers that love to entertain.

Self photos

I told the boys their hair was getting crazy long, and I started playing with it to be silly.  They wanted to see what it looked like, so we started taking pictures.  Ryland styled his hair and took his own picture.  The one below was with his funny smirk.

Reed joined the fun and took a sad face picture with his hair all brushed to his face.
These two are way shaggy. Time for a trim.

Crowns

It had been a long time since I had seen a Burger King crown, but leave it to a trip back to Louisiana to keep it old school.  Ryland tried playing shy about his crown.  He wouldn't dare take it off, and he tried so hard to keep his smile contained.

Reed was the complete opposite.  He was rocking his crown, and I couldn't get him to settle down.  He thought it was really cool and funny.

Shopping

Many things have changed since having children, especially how much and where I shop.  My favorite store is now TJ Maxx/HomeGoods.  I just love that I can find basically everything I need in one place at a good price.  It would be perfect if I could get groceries there as well.
On today's trip, the boys tried desperately to push me to the limit.  I was really feeling my blood pressure creeping up until I looked up from the stacks of towels.  There were my boys laughing hysterically, along with a group of lady shoppers.  Ryland was trying on a bra - on his head!  Hilarious!

Bunch of fun

We had a relaxing evening with our favorite neighbors to enjoy the Good Friday extra day off.  All the kids played upstairs quietly, and we should have known they were up to something.  I went upstairs to assess the situation, and I found them all having a blast while destroying the playroom.  Thing is, I love it.  I am so glad this huge room is getting some use and making some fun memories.  Ryland and Charlie were very secretive about what they were up to, but I have a feeling it will end in tears.

Grace was sitting quietly reading in the rocking chair.

Travis and Reed had emptied the toy box and climbed in.  Who needs toys?

By the end of the night, everyone was worn out.  We started Horton Hears a Who, and we soon had droopy eyes.

Snuggle bug

Almost every morning, I am greeted by the sweetest, silliest, little snuggle bug.  Reed shows up in my room with his Ziggy and Nonni ready to cuddle.  We usually chat about what is planned for the day and watch a little Max and Ruby.  He was super funny this morning, so I grabbed my phone to take a couple pictures.  Love that smile and how happy he is in the morning.
He loves to hide under the covers from Cooper and myself.  He thinks it is hilarious.

Look at that crazy hair!

Dishwasher

I heard a ton of laughter in the kitchen, so I peeked around the corner to see what was going on.  I found Reed climbing in the dishwasher.  Ryland was standing right beside him, and they both were laughing hysterically.  Oh brother!
