Snow Day

The weather forecasts have been all over the place.  One minute we are going to get snow, and the next minute we will miss it.  We ended up being right on the line of the front, so we enjoyed a nice dry dusting of beautiful snow.  It barely covered the coping around the pool and lightly covered the flower beds.  It was so peaceful watching it fall.

Ridley enjoyed the snow fall while waiting on her brothers to get home.  She sat in her chair patiently waiting and playing on her tablet.

Friday night fun called for a family room pallet and a movie.  My sweet babies are getting so big.  We had a fantastic Friday.

New Truck

This fun never goes away!  Our crazy, fun Friday night is learning about our new truck.  Same excitement as when we were younger, just a much better new vehicle.

Chuck E Cheese's

John Chris and I wanted to get out of the house and do something fun with Ryland tonight. We thought Chuck E Cheese's would be perfect, and we just knew Ryland would have a blast. I saw this picture sketch machine, and I was insistent that we get a picture of the three of us. Needless to say, Ryland wasn't happy about it. It only took about 15 seconds to pose, and he wasn't going to have it. I love that our cherished take home memento shows him having a fit. Priceless.
Taking a ride with Chuck E.
This ride was NOT a hit. Ryland started screaming immediately when it started moving.

This toy was in the toddler section, but it looks like John Chris was more intrigued. Ryland has already wondered off.
OK, who is actually playing this game? Isn't it cute?
Mommy showed Ryland how to drive. Pretty darn scary. I hope he wasn't taking notes.
We all had a blast playing and hanging out tonight, and we will definitely come play again.

Building a blanket fort

What tops off the perfect family Friday night? A blanket fort, of course. John Chris mentioned building a fort a couple weeks back, but with everything that has been going on we just haven't found the time. After swimming, grilling, and playing, we all gathered blankets, sheets, and pillows in the upstairs den. Ryland thought the sofa with no pillows was pretty cool, and he was convinced that it was now a trampoline.

Dad started draping the sheets for the roof of the fort, while Ryland played peek a boo.

Explanation for this picture. Ryland loves any kind of cord, cable, wire, etc. We keep extra computer cables, phone chargers, and so on in a basket in the entertainment center. Ryland has found this basket of fun and loves to empty the basket and walk around with one of the cables. So odd, and I promise the child has toys. He just thinks the cables are more fun. We only let him play with them while he is with us, and I plan on hiding the basket.

Fort building was a success. Ryland is one happy little boy that can't stop giggling.

BOUNCE

Nanna was in town visiting, so we took her to play with us at bounce.

Ryland acted like he was a little tired. He would just plop down every now and then. Who knows? Maybe he was just power resting.

Peek-a-boo! We see you.

Bounce

Today was the last day of BOUNCE for a few weeks. Ryland and I have really enjoyed going on Fridays, and we look forward to them bringing it back in a couple months. It is funny to see how much he loves it today. He was running around and falling on all the foam wedges and blocks. I can't help but think back to the first session. He just sat on the side of one of the foam blocks with a boogie wipe in his mouth and a jingle ball that was attached to the block in his hand. He would not budge. I would take the boogie wipe away, and he would scream bloody murder.
I am constantly amazed at how quickly he is growing up. I am so excited to show him new things and share experiences with him, but I have to admit that it makes me a little sad to see him grow so quickly. He is a little boy now, and I can't stop wondering where my little infant has gone.
OK, enough of me being sappy.

BOUNCE

Bounce time again! Ryland branched out to a new toy today. He saw Harker and some of the other kids crawl through this tunnel, so he got a little more interested. It was so funny!
Since he won't crawl on all fours, he started army crawling or snake slithering into the tunnel. About half way through he decided to turn around. He couldn't get turned around because he was on his belly. His face was smashed in the plastic, and he started to roll. I couldn't get the camera fast enough to catch him in this funny position. He was frustrated but eventually was able to sit up.

BOUNCE

We haven't been able to attend Bounce for a couple of weeks, but we made it back today. Ryland's favorite toy this week is this plastic wall with an amazing swinging door. He had so much fun opening and closing the door. I looked at this toy at Toys R Us, but thought he would get bored with it quickly. It is kind of big and bulky and the perfect toy to play with somewhere else.

BOUNCE

It's Friday. It's time for BOUNCE!
We met Sarah, Harker, Lindsey, and Jackson at the library for our weekly dose of crazy kid fun. I grabbed a quick shot of the kiddos before they all went nuts.

BOUNCE! - take 2

Once again it is Friday, and it is time for BOUNCE!
We headed to the library to enjoy this baby social fun party. Sarah, Harker, and Sarah's mom met us there for the fun. Ryland did so much better this week, and I think it was because Harker was there. Harker is more mobile than Ryland, but she sat and played with him for a while. They are so funny together. If Harker has something, Ryland wants it and the same when he has something. I love the expressions in the pictures. I can't wait until they can talk!
I found some of the moms to be so funny. Some are very interactive, actually getting down on the floor and playing with their kids. Some just sit in the chairs and watch their kids. And then there are some who don't even play or watch their kids. It is almost like they completely forget about them until they start screaming because they have fallen and hurt themselves. I don't know. We will see how I am after 2 or 3 toddlers. CRAZY probably!

BOUNCE!

Our local library started BOUNCE on Fridays, and we had to go check it out. It is not quite what I was expecting, but it was a lot of fun. The whole second floor of the library is pretty much empty, so the staff set up a huge play area for the kiddos. Most of the children are walking and jumping, but Ryland seemed happy just sitting in my lap. He started out super clingy and would not let go of me. I think once he realized that I was not leaving him, he began to loosen up and play. He was very intrigued by this magnet table. He is way to little to actually play with it, but it was the perfect height for him to walk around. There were around 30 moms with children, and it is a fun time no matter how cold it is outside. We have added BOUNCE to the weekly schedule!
